Millennial Victoran Font + Extras
About
Millennial is an authentic late-19th-century/Victorian display typeface which was inspired by a piece of hand-lettered type on an 1896 Sanborn-Perris Map Co. fire insurance map of San Antonio. The name "Millennial" pays tribute to the year 1896 which was a year of festivities centered around the 1000th anniversary of the settling of Hungarians in the Carpathian basin. Drawing inspiration from the eclectic architectural elements of buildings erected in Budapest around this time, I have created special ligatures which pay homage to the Neo-Gothic wooden interior archway elements of the famous Párizsi Udvar in downtown Budapest.
This pack comes with the following products:
- Millennial Display Font (basic Latin and Hungarian alphabets; numerous alternative characters and ligatures);
- 49 Authentic Victorian Line Ornaments (originally sold to printing houses by the Genzsch & Heyse type foundry in Germany during the late 1880s / early 1890s);
- 12 Authentic Victorian Line Ornament Border Brushes (for Adobe Illustrator)
