Butter mold

Perhaps not in everyone’s home these days, but my parents and grand parents had these. But then I am from Scandinavia, where these things once were common. Anyway, when you have whipped up your cows milk and it starts to thicken, you put in one of these – and voila, you have a very nice block of butter to put out on the table.

This wooden block has been handmade - of course - inclusive the beautiful carved ornaments that create the patter in the butter-block.
