23 Inspiring Home Offices - 2014 Edition

Your workspace is sacred ground. It's the place where all the magic happens and where you spend most of your time, especially if you're a freelancer working from home. Even if you have a nine-to-five job and your home office is where you take on late night sprints, it's still your space and it deserves your total attention when putting it together.

From choosing the perfect chair to getting the right desk and accessories, you should think of your office as the place where you feel comfortable, creative, and productive. This is why, a lot of times, using "left over furniture" - those things no one else in your family wants to use, is not the best idea. That couch may be nice and cozy, but it's likely not the proper place for you to work.

When putting together a workspace you should focus on comfort, which means it's often good to think about it as an investment instead of an expense. This will make it easier for you to get that nice chair or the extra special gadget you need to makes things easier.

Today we'll be showing you inspiring home offices. The cool thing about these workspaces is that they belong to real people. They're not just staged images for an architecture magazine. These photos come from real designers, developers, and other professionals. Take a look, and get ready to be inspired.

I want chalkboard wallpaper in my office, too :) *Pinned* Great roundup! Thanks for sharing.

  1. I always wanted to organize something like that in my room.. White and simple, that's all I need.
Thanks for such a useful blog:)

  2. I've learned thought experience that the cleaner your working space is, the more creative you can be. Now I can bet that most of these guys cleaned up before making a photo-shoot, but I also believe they keep their space neat and tidy most of the time.

  3. Lovely workspaces, I love to see where/how others are working :). Thanks for this, Gisele!

  4. Very stimulating desktops. But I am always looking forward to see more; the whole room, decoration, the shelves with his books, and even what you see from the window. Too focused on technology, and the workspace is much more.

On another subject: I have a request for you. I can see many CreativeMarket mates with Dribble account. I'm very interesting to get into Dribble. I would like to be invited vey much. Really would be very grateful.

    Thank you very much.

  5. Sam! I'm with you brother. Unfortunately both are tools required by the design industry. I'd say at this point mac products are about as original as black jeans, but then again I'm not sure someone with a code syntax for an avatar should say shit about creative anything. It is pretty original though...
