The crew of Wes Anderson&#8217;s 2014 film <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt2278388\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Grand Budapest Hotel<\/a><\/em> deservingly took home four Oscars, including one for Best Production Design.<br \/>\nDigging through movie credits, you&acirc;&euro;&trade;ll find that Irish graphic designer <a href=\"http:\/\/annieatkins.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Annie Atkins<\/a> had a lot to do with the evening&acirc;&euro;&trade;s win.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/d3ui957tjb5bqd.cloudfront.net\/uploads\/2015\/02\/03035156\/annie-atkins.jpg.webp\" alt=\"annie-atkins\" width=\"680\" height=\"444\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-21450\"><\/p>\n<h2>Annie Atkins<\/h2>\n<p>\nAtkins was the film&acirc;&euro;&trade;s lead graphic designer in charge of creating all the graphic props and pieces that appeared on set &acirc;&euro;&rdquo; the charming Mendl&acirc;&euro;&trade;s pastry packaging, the elegant design of Monsieur Gustave&acirc;&euro;&trade;s iconic L&acirc;&euro;&trade;air de Panache cologne, the scrupulously hand-drawn prison escape map. The film takes place between the World Wars in the State of Zubrowka, a fictional country in Europe, but through her work, Atkins made it a reality for audience and actors alike.<br \/>\n&acirc;&euro;&oelig;A fictitious country needs all kinds of graphics: flags, banknotes, passports, street signs,&acirc;&euro; Atkins told&Acirc;&nbsp;Quartz.com. &acirc;&euro;&oelig;It&acirc;&euro;&trade;s impossible to imagine graphics like these. You have to do your research and you&acirc;&euro;&trade;ll find treasures that you couldn&acirc;&euro;&trade;t even have begun to sit down and draw until you saw them in front of your eyes.&acirc;&euro;<br \/>\nA project of enormous proportions, impeccably designing all the graphic assets for The Grand Budapest Hotel proved a fruitful endeavor.
