Adrian Frutiger, the designer of Univers, Avenir and Frutiger, did just that. He passed away last Thursday, September 10th, at 87 years old.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/d3ui957tjb5bqd.cloudfront.net\/uploads\/2015\/09\/09032656\/adrian-frutiger-1.jpg.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"680\" height=\"486\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-28471\"><br \/>\nThink about those three fonts and where you&#8217;ve seen them for a moment. Frutiger, for example, is found on road signs all over the world, as shown below:<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/d3ui957tjb5bqd.cloudfront.net\/uploads\/2015\/09\/09032659\/adrian-frutiger-5.jpg.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"680\" height=\"481\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-28475\"><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/d3ui957tjb5bqd.cloudfront.net\/uploads\/2015\/09\/09032705\/adrian-frutiger-3.jpg.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"1036\" height=\"1036\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-28473\"><br \/>\nIn addition, he created fonts such as Didot, and Egyptienne, designing over 30 in his lifetime. Are you reading this on an Apple device? Apple used Univers as their font of choice for years before moving on, as did General Electric and on London street signs.
