At one point, I was owed $5,000 from a client, and $5,000 from another &acirc;&euro;&rdquo; true story. Obviously I dropped those clients, but the fact remains that freelancers get stiffed on the bill more often than they&#8217;d like to admit. To point out this unfortunate reality, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freelancersunion.org\">Freelancers Union<\/a> has created the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldslongestinvoice.com\">World&#8217;s Longest Invoice<\/a>, where you can add your own IOU to the list, and see how much the running total is for freelancers worldwide.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/d3ui957tjb5bqd.cloudfront.net\/uploads\/2016\/04\/10225544\/invoice-01.jpg.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"680\" height=\"1101\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-35238\"><br \/>\nThat&#8217;s crazy, right? As I write, there&#8217;s just shy of $3,000,000 owed to freelancers all across the world. That is not only tremendously depressing, but somebody needs to do something about it &acirc;&euro;&rdquo; and that&#8217;s where Freelancers Union comes in. They want to empower the freelance worker with the tools they need to survive. Now, I&#8217;m not a member, but it is free, and there are cool benefits (including health insurance!) to consider.
