This feature allows users to post up to 10 photos or videos that their audience can swipe through. Some users are starting to see exponential growth by creating valuable content shared through Carousels.&nbsp;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/creativemarket.com\/rogercoles\/5446388-Two-Tone-Carousel-Post-for-Instagram\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-56131 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/d3ui957tjb5bqd.cloudfront.net\/uploads\/2020\/10\/21233003\/InstagramCarousel.jpg.webp\" alt=\"Carousel Posts for Instagram\" width=\"680\" height=\"400\"><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">So, let&acirc;&euro;&trade;s talk about how to design a stunning Instagram Carousel and put you on the engagement train.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Choose_your_premise_or_concept\"><\/span>Choose your premise or concept<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The posts that are shared the most usually fall into 3 categories:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Inspiration<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Education<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Entertainment<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Filter your content through one (or a combination) of those categories. Of course, we want the design to be Uh-MAZING, but if it doesn&acirc;&euro;&trade;t benefit our audience, they won&acirc;&euro;&trade;t be as likely to share or engage.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Now that you&acirc;&euro;&trade;ve got the content, let&acirc;&euro;&trade;s make that stunning Instagram Carousel.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Decide_how_many_slides_you_want_in_your_Carousel\"><\/span>Decide how many slides you want in your Carousel<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Instagram allows Image Posts to be Landscape, Portrait, or Square. For Carousel Posts, you&acirc;&euro;&trade;ll want to choose Portrait (1080&#215;1350) or Square (1080&#215;1080). If you decide to go with Portrait, just be sure everything in your post fits within the square Instagram Grid on your profile (we don&acirc;&euro;&trade;t want any text getting cut off!). There are lots of great resources if you need more help with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/later.com\/blog\/instagram-image-size\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Instagram sizing.<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For this walkthrough, I&acirc;&euro;&trade;ll be using Square. I know that I want 10 slides. Time to do some math. No worries, it&acirc;&euro;&trade;s elementary math. Take the Instagram width dimensions and multiply it by how many slides you&acirc;&euro;&trade;ll be creating. In this case, we will multiply 1080 times 10. That tells us how wide our image needs to be = 10800px.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Prep_your_canvas\"><\/span>Prep your canvas.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-56134 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/d3ui957tjb5bqd.cloudfront.net\/uploads\/2020\/10\/21233017\/CanvasSize.jpg.webp\" alt=\"Creative Market Tutorial\" width=\"680\" height=\"400\"><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Open Photoshop and create a new canvas with these dimensions: 10800&#215;1080. Now it&acirc;&euro;&trade;s time to paint some happy trees.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Everything&acirc;&euro;&trade;s better with a guide. In life, and in Photoshop. We need to add our guides because they&acirc;&euro;&trade;ll help us separate one image from the next. The guides will also come in handy later when we use the slicing tool.&nbsp;<\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-56136 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/d3ui957tjb5bqd.cloudfront.net\/uploads\/2020\/10\/21233021\/Layout.jpg.webp\" alt=\"Templates for Designers\" width=\"680\" height=\"400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In Photoshop, click on View &gt; New Guide Layout. Edit the fields so that you have 10 columns and 1 row.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Create_an_Eye-Catching_Cover_Slide\"><\/span>Create an Eye-Catching Cover Slide<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Now that our Canvas is ready we can get busy creating an eye-catching cover slide. Think of a headline that will hook your audience in. Something like, &acirc;&euro;&oelig;3 Mistakes Every Designer Makes&acirc;&euro;, &acirc;&euro;&oelig;How I Got 56k Views with Less Than 200 Followers&acirc;&euro;, or in this case, &acirc;&euro;&oelig;What I Learned From Going Viral&acirc;&euro;.&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I find that it helps to approach these Cover Slides as little magazine covers.<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/creativemarket.com\/rogercoles\/5446388-Two-Tone-Carousel-Post-for-Instagram\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-56137 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/d3ui957tjb5bqd.cloudfront.net\/uploads\/2020\/10\/21233027\/CoverImage.jpg.webp\" alt=\"Canva Carousel Templates\" width=\"680\" height=\"400\"><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you don&acirc;&euro;&trade;t have a catchy headline, chances are low that your audience will swipe to the next slide. You&acirc;&euro;&trade;re looking to gain <a href=\"https:\/\/creativemarket.com\/blog\/powerful-edgy-fonts\">attention<\/a> with the very first image. A catchy headline will also continue to earn you engagement because once it&acirc;&euro;&trade;s parked on your feed, the headline is what will entice new visitors to click.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tall, <a href=\"https:\/\/creativemarket.com\/search?q=bold+fonts\">bold fonts<\/a> work really well for Carousel slides. Choose a font that is slender enough to allow room for your messaging as well as your design. Good typography is key for Carousel Posts. Since then, I&acirc;&euro;&trade;ve learned that just because it LOOKS good doesn&acirc;&euro;&trade;t mean it will perform well. If it&acirc;&euro;&trade;s an educational post, for instance, your post should <\/span><b>grab attention<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><b>address pain points<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, and then <\/span><b>offer solutions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to help the audience solve a problem. You have a much better chance of someone saving your post when you&acirc;&euro;&trade;ve offered them a valuable gold nugget that will make their lives easier.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Adding_Photos_Imagery\"><\/span>Adding Photos &amp; Imagery<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">One of my favorite tricks for a Carousel Post is to find ways to place images on &acirc;&euro;&oelig;the fold&acirc;&euro; (the edge of the slide). This way, when the user scrolls there&acirc;&euro;&trade;s a nice effect as the image spills over from one image to the next. Notice how I used an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/creativemarket.com\/Rometheme\/3345017-Iphone-X-Mockups-vol.1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">iPhone<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> in this image that bleeds over from Image 1 to Image 2. I used this technique in my <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/creativemarket.com\/rogercoles\/4894774-Podcast-Carousel-Posts-CANVA-PS\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Carousel Posts for Podcasters<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> as well as my <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/creativemarket.com\/rogercoles\/5446388-Two-Tone-Carousel-Post-for-Instagram\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Two Tone Carousel Posts.<\/span><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/creativemarket.com\/rogercoles\/4894774-Podcast-Carousel-Posts-CANVA-PS\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-56139 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/d3ui957tjb5bqd.cloudfront.net\/uploads\/2020\/10\/21233037\/ImageFold.jpg.webp\" alt=\"Instagram Carousel Templates\" width=\"680\" height=\"400\"><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sometimes you may want to use an image that needs the background removed. Instead of painstakingly using the pen tool in Photoshop, you could try a site like <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.remove.bg\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">remove.bg<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Or, if you are on the paid version of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canva.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Canva<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, they&acirc;&euro;&trade;ve got a great background remover tool.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Saving_Your_Carousel_Post\"><\/span>Saving Your Carousel Post<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Now that you&acirc;&euro;&trade;ve designed the most amazing Carousel Post in the galaxy, it&acirc;&euro;&trade;s time to save that mamma jamma.&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Select the Slice tool (found by clicking and holding the Crop tool in the toolbar). Then click &acirc;&euro;&oelig;Slice from Guides&acirc;&euro; on your top toolbar. Go to File &gt; Export &gt; Save for Web (Legacy).<\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-56140\" src=\"https:\/\/d3ui957tjb5bqd.cloudfront.net\/uploads\/2020\/10\/21233043\/Slice.jpg.webp\" alt=\"Carousel Post\" width=\"680\" height=\"550\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Click &acirc;&euro;&oelig;Save&acirc;&euro;&brvbar;&acirc;&euro; and choose where you would like the images to be saved. The wide canvas will be sliced into individual images and placed in a folder (usually labeled &acirc;&euro;&oelig;images&acirc;&euro;). And that&acirc;&euro;&trade;s it! You&acirc;&euro;&trade;re done.
