These are the kinds of game-changing little tweaks that accelerate your workflow and you wish you knew about sooner. If Photoshop is home to you, read on and start saving time today.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-1-shortcuts\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1_Shortcuts\"><\/span>1. Shortcuts<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Designer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/luamaralstudio\/\">Lu Amaral<\/a>&Acirc;&nbsp;swears by keyboard shortcuts, saying they &#8220;are everything when you use Photoshop all day long, every day.&#8221; To define your own shortcuts, go to <a href=\"https:\/\/helpx.adobe.com\/photoshop\/using\/customizing-keyboard-shortcuts.html\">Edit &gt; Keyboard Shortcuts<\/a>. Paola from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/thecollaborateva\/\">thecollaborateva<\/a> is emphatic: &#8220;Command S to save! I&#8217;ve made it a habit in all my graphic and video work to hit that save shortcut. You just never know when that autosave won&#8217;t save!&#8221; <\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-2-actions\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Actions\"><\/span>2. Actions<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In shop owner <a href=\"https:\/\/creativemarket.com\/ana.yvy\">ana &amp; yvy<\/a>&#8216;s words, the trick here is &#8220;excessive use of actions!&#8221; Designer Lori Knutsen from <a href=\"https:\/\/creativemarket.com\/dailymiracledigitals\">DailyMiracleDigitals<\/a> concurs, saying it&#8217;s worth making your own actions capturing the features and steps you use the most. <\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you&#8217;re not familiar with <a href=\"https:\/\/helpx.adobe.com\/photoshop\/using\/creating-actions.html\">Actions<\/a>, they are just recorded series of steps that you can set in motion at any point in time. Whenever you find yourself repeating certain tasks in Photoshop, there&#8217;s an opportunity to record them and save yourself some time. Select &gt; Subject<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Think of this feature as a sophisticated background removal tool. To try it, select the Quick Selection or Magic Wand tools and check the <a href=\"https:\/\/helpx.adobe.com\/photoshop\/how-to\/select-subject-one-click.html\">Select Subject<\/a> option. You can also choose Select &gt; Subject. It&#8217;ll automatically identify and select subjects in any photograph. It&#8217;s a great trick if you&#8217;re trying to layer interesting backgrounds and human subjects with a clean crop, but don&#8217;t have the time to select it manually.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-4-content-aware-fill\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_Content-aware_Fill\"><\/span>4. Content-aware Fill<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As of <a href=\"https:\/\/helpx.adobe.com\/ca\/photoshop\/using\/crop-straighten-photos.html#CAFCrop\">Photoshop CC 2015.5<\/a>, you can rely on the app&#8217;s content-aware technology to fill in any remaining space when you use the Crop tool. Next time you&#8217;re rotating an image or enlarging your canvas and find a gap, give Content-aware fill a try. It&#8217;s simple: when using the Crop tool, check the &#8220;Content-aware&#8221; option and watch the auto-fill magic happen.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-5-artboard-exports\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5_Artboard_Exports\"><\/span>5. Artboard Exports<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This trick comes directly from us. If you&#8217;ve been using Photoshop for over a decade, you might be more familiar with its original canvas than the newer Artboards feature. In <a href=\"https:\/\/creativemarket.com\/blog\/artboards-are-finally-coming-to-photoshop-and-theyre-going-to-change-everything\">Photoshop CC 2015<\/a>, Adobe rolled out Artboards as workspaces for this app. They&#8217;ve been strengthening the feature ever since, giving us more flexibility for complex design projects with various compositions. <\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The best part? When you build your layouts using Artboards, exporting assets at 1x, 2x, and other sizes becomes <a href=\"https:\/\/helpx.adobe.com\/photoshop\/using\/artboards.html\">incredibly easy<\/a>.
