What to Look for in Procreate Brushes

Before we dig into a selection of brushes that we’re sure you’ll absolutely love, we need to answer a question:

What makes a truly great Procreate brush pack?

The answer may vary depending on your specific uses for the brushes, but we find the following to be the common factors across packs.

Variety

Even in a brush pack dedicated to one aspect of painting or drawing – such as watercolors or oil paintings – the pack you choose should offer variety. Multiple brush sizes and color selections are ideal. After all, an artist using real brushes doesn’t limit themselves to just one.

Full Compatibilty

Perhaps it should go without saying, but a brush pack that requires you to spend an eternity getting it to work in Procreate is not a pack you want to buy. Key here is checking the latest version – both of the pack and Procreate itself – to ensure everything will work as expected once you download.

Matching Your Style

Have you ever found yourself using one set of Procreate brushes while wishing that you had literally any other brushes available? That means you haven’t found the right brushes for your style. So, know thyself first and that’ll lead you to the best brushes for your artwork.
