LIFESTYLE: a modern Lightroom preset

LIFE//style is a preset with a clean and modern feel. It is a versatile preset that works with a large range of portraiture and lifestyle photography from couples portraits, family portraits, interior photos, still life, and the plus (+) form is great for editorial work. As with many of my presets, I developed this to create flattering skin texture and tones - aiming to reduce the retouching time in Photoshop.

In this pack there are 4 files, which are 4 different 'strengths' of the preset:

L//S -- (double reduced) L//S - (slightly reduced effect for a subtle edit) L//S (regular) L//S + (increased effect for more dramatic edit)

//COMPATIBILITY//

• Best results are with RAW/DNG files. Results with Jpeg files are unpredictable.
• Works in Lightroom 5-6 (CC) and ACR

//Installation//

LIGHTROOM

Installing: after downloading presets into your folder of choice, open Lightroom and right-click on the folder you want to import the preset into. Click 'import', and select the downloaded preset.

ACR

Installing: after downloading presets, place them in the Settings folder. Once in the folder, they should appear in the Presets tab on the right when you have ACR open.

Mac: Users/username/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/Settings Windos: c:UsersusernameAppDataRoamingAdobeCameraRawSettings

// Using the preset //

Make sure you get the right colour temperature and exposure in your image first, then click on the preset for the edit. Fine tune the exposure after the edit has been applied.

EXPOSURE ADJUSTMENTS: This preset tends to increase the overall brightness of the image- you might need to scale back the exposure if it over-brightens the image.
