Kingfall typeface

Kingfall is a handwritten medieval typeface sketched with a flat calligraphic nib. Its design is built on the contrast between small condensed lowercases and large decorative uppercases that can also function as initials. The shape of the letters has numerous rough bends and hard edges, as if the royal blacksmith took a strip of iron and shaped it with a hammer. At the same time, the direction of strokes avoids geometric rectilinearity, thereby adding a human touch to the letterform.

Initials: Kingfall Initials is a font family style that contains a decorated versions of the uppercase letter shapes only.

Optical Size: The typeface is represented by two optical sizes: Blessed (high contrast, sharp, for large text size), Dark (medium contrast, rough, for small text size).

Stylistic Set 2 “Decorations”: The font contains 22 elements for book chapter decoration. There are two ways to apply them: 1. Open the Glyphs panel in the graphics editor and select the decorative element manually. 2. Activate Stylistic Set 2 and type the keywords from :decoration1: to :decoration22: in the text.

Stylistic Set 3 “Classic Y”: The letter “Y” (including diacritical versions) is replaced with more familiar letterform.

Stylistic Set 4 “Descended epsilon”: The lowercase greek epsilon is replaced with its handwritten version that is descended under the baseline.

Slashed Zero: All “0” figures are replaced with a slashed/dotted zero.

Case Sensitive Forms: ()[]{}‹›«»-–—•·#%‰@ and Arrows are centered on capitals. Oldstyle figures (if presented) are replaced with Lining figures.

Case conversion for monotonic Greek: ΆΈΉΊΌΎΏ. Greek uppercase accented characters lose their tonos accent and retain only dieresis in All Caps mode. Turned on by default. If you need tonos accents in All Caps then turn off Contextual Alternates (calt) feature.
