What are the different types of fonts?

While there are many ways to differentiate fonts, the main different categories to start with are serif, sans serif, script, blackletter, display/decorative, and non-Western. What is the difference between a font and a typeface?

The difference between a font and a typeface is that a typeface refers to the overall design, while a font is a specific style, size, or weight within that typeface. This is a bit confusing on its face - we think it’s a bit easier to reference an example. So if “Neue Swiss” is your typeface, "Neue Swiss Bold 12pt" might be your font. Of course, as you’ll find with anything in this wonderful world of fonts, nothing is so simple. What Font License is Right for Me?

A desktop license is the most common license and covers most commercial font usage. You can create graphic designs (logos, signs, etc.) and products (mugs, t-shirts, hats, etc.) for yourself, or your client(s). These are great for logos and branding, movie titles and captions, PDFs, cards, signs and print merchandise. Products may be sold for profit as long as the letters are not the main selling point of your product (like a house number or stamp set). Embedding fonts is not allowed with this license with a few exceptions (such as a PDF reports). All licenses on our site are perpetual, which means you pay once and use it forever. To use a font on your website, you’ll need a web font license. This type of license allows you to embed font files into the CSS code on your site. From there, site visitors can then see and temporarily use your embedded fonts! Web licenses on Creative Market are priced by pageview limits (essentially this means they are priced according to traffic). Beyond the web, we’ve also got you covered for apps and publications. Our app licenses allow you to embed font files in app code. These are best for things like games, mobile apps, and web apps. Chalk SVG font - designing quotes with chalk easier!

Chalk SVG font is a hand-lettering font with high-definition chalk textures, completely built into the font as a transparency. What makes Chalk SVG font so special is that it comes in 4 different styles: Solid, Shape, Deco, Deco2.

Whether you're a lettering artist, a designer or not, designing quotes with chalk and want to create a composition with letters on the chalkboard, I care about every aspect of your design process and want to make it better and easier with my new font. Now you don't have to build each letter according to the rules, make it a separate design, apply the texture of chalk. I created set of textured fonts that with the touch of a finger solve this problem.

IMPORTANT: Chalk SVG font requires Photoshop CC 2017 or Illustrator CC 2018 (or newer) to use. Illustrator CC 2017, Photoshop CC 2015 and older versions DO NOT support SVG fonts. If you don’t have Photoshop CC 2017 or Illustrator CC 2018, I have included all letters and symbols as separate images in a layered Photoshop file and PNG files with transparency, which you can simply copy and paste into your document. Create your chalk projects!

I tried using this font in Photoshop CC and was very disappointed. Instead of looking like the sample; it looked like Arial or some other sans serif font. I am able to use the images, but it is very cumbersome to utilize. I would not recommend this font to anyone.

Hello! Sorry for hearing that you wasn't satisfied with my product. Please, contact me so I can help you to solve this problem. The only reason you can't use my font is in version of your Photoshop CC. Please note, as written in description, SVG fonts are only works in Photoshop CC 2017 or higher.

How can I unzip product files?

PC: To extract a single file or folder, double-click the compressed folder to open it. Then, drag the file or folder from the compressed folder to a new location. To extract the entire contents of the compressed folder, right-click the folder, click Extract All, and then follow the instructions.

Mac: Double click the .zip file, then search for the product folder or product file.

How do I install a font?

After you unzip your font product files, you will see .OTF or .TTF files. To install a font, just double click on the OTF or TTF file. For more information, check out our Font FAQ.

What software do I need to use this font?

When a font is installed on your computer, it can be used with any program that allows you to create text. Fonts will work in Microsoft Office applications, Adobe software, and almost any other program with a text editor.
