Something was recorded here, and the tape did not survive it.
Twenty-five landscapes pulled apart into dots and scan lines — pines dissolving into static, a shoreline breaking into rows, a treeline eaten by dropout. Sepia and bone white, nothing else. Then twenty cross-stitch frames to hold a fragment still, and fifteen stitched stars to scatter across it in red.
