Willld | Distressed Blackletter
About
Willld is a distressed blackletter for the new medievalists. It is a slanted, weather-beaten gothic typeface for folk revivalists, hedge-witches, and Wicker Man absolutists. Think of blackletter left out in the rain: sharp spurs, broken strokes, and a forward-leaning energy that looks as though it was cut by candlelight and printed on a press that has seen better centuries.
Set Willld big and it looms like a woodcut broadside. Set it small and it crackles with folk-horror menace. Either way, it does not sit politely on the page. It creeps. Use it for album sleeves, gig posters, craft beer and cider labels, tarot decks, festival branding, horror titles, and anything that needs a little pagan mischief.
Light the bonfire. Summon the maypole. Get Willld.
