About
Briston is a bold vintage style serif font with strong character and soft features. Briston is equipped with Swash, Stylistic and Titling alternates as well as with Standard and Discretionary Ligatures. All these features can be accessed by OpenType controls or straight from Character or Glyphs window. The font is PUA encoded so you can use the extra glyphs in most graphic design softwares. In addition Briston has a small set of ornaments and strokes that are found by turning on Swash -feature and typing characters 1-9.
In addition: if you can't use OpenType features, you can use additional Briston Swash, Briston Salt (Stylistic Alternates) and Briston Titl (Titling Alternates) to access the alternates. In these versions you'll find the Alternate in question in place of the Standard Character. So - if you type "A" with Briston Swash, you'll get the Swash A.
Briston is and efficient typeface for headlines, logos and display use. You can also try using Briston all caps in really small sizes by adding some spacing.
If you like Briston you'll probably also like Skillet: https://creativemarket.com/Fenotype/6289831-Skillet-Serif-Typeface-40
and Tomato Ketchup: https://creativemarket.com/Fenotype/6880498-Tomato-Ketchup-Retro-Serif-Font
Please note, when you type with Briston you normally get the standard versions of characters, otherwise the alternate characters would make a mess. To access the alternates you need to have an OpenType-savvy software or fetch them from the software's font controls: Check software specific instructions here: https://support.creativemarket.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037478813-Using-Fonts-with-Special-Features-OpenType-
Or you can install the different versions - Swash, Salt or Titl to get the Swash, Stylistic or Titling Alternate glyphs as the "standard" version and then combine these.

I used it for a design I’ve been having trouble finding a font for. This font was perfect! Had a perfect style, and I love the thickness. Also the glyph options are amazing!!
I’ve tried to use this font multiple times and it is not as described. It’s only basic fonts.
Is there a file that is missing? I don't get the same fonts as the photos presents AT ALL.
Hi Samantha, Briston is an OpenType font and the features you see in the specimen pictures are inside the font. I promise you, every character shown is there. I'll DM you further instructions. **Edit.** Any news Samantha? Did you find the alternates from the font? I've now added also old school style versions of alternates - as separate fonts
