What are the different types of fonts?

While there are many ways to differentiate fonts, the main different categories to start with are serif, sans serif, script, blackletter, display/decorative, and non-Western. What is the difference between a font and a typeface?

The difference between a font and a typeface is that a typeface refers to the overall design, while a font is a specific style, size, or weight within that typeface. This is a bit confusing on its face - we think it’s a bit easier to reference an example. So if “Neue Swiss” is your typeface, "Neue Swiss Bold 12pt" might be your font. Of course, as you’ll find with anything in this wonderful world of fonts, nothing is so simple. What Font License is Right for Me?

A desktop license is the most common license and covers most commercial font usage. You can create graphic designs (logos, signs, etc.) and products (mugs, t-shirts, hats, etc.) for yourself, or your client(s). These are great for logos and branding, movie titles and captions, PDFs, cards, signs and print merchandise. Products may be sold for profit as long as the letters are not the main selling point of your product (like a house number or stamp set). Embedding fonts is not allowed with this license with a few exceptions (such as a PDF reports). All licenses on our site are perpetual, which means you pay once and use it forever. To use a font on your website, you’ll need a web font license. This type of license allows you to embed font files into the CSS code on your site. From there, site visitors can then see and temporarily use your embedded fonts! Web licenses on Creative Market are priced by pageview limits (essentially this means they are priced according to traffic). Beyond the web, we’ve also got you covered for apps and publications. Our app licenses allow you to embed font files in app code. These are best for things like games, mobile apps, and web apps. ArrowScript was lovingly designed to be a natural, loose cursive, mimicking my own writing style. It's a stunning, elegant font designed to be "imperfectly perfect." It has alternates for each letter, along with stylish swashes and hand drawn characters to make your projects look hand scripted.

This font has movement, and brings energy & life to your designs- all while looking totally hand drawn!

This font comes with a two sets of lowercase alternates, allowing you to switch letter styles as you type, for a fun, artistic flow that won't be repetitive. Simply alternate between lower and uppercase, and pick whichever letter fits your mood best. There are alternates too, which are accessible by turning on 'Stylistic Alternates' in Photoshop, or though using any software with a glyphs panel, (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop CC, etc)

And a super fun part of this font is that it actually includes the option to start and end your text with gorgeous arrowhead and feather! (See Preview Image #5 for example)

What you get:

ArrowScript.otf which includes lowercase cursive characters with a large range of punctuation glyphs, numerals, and multilingual support. A full set of stylistic alternates for lefthand uppercase, and righthand lowercase characters are also available.
A mini pack of 12 of my modern watercolor flowers (full set coming soon!) which are displayed in the preview images, and some real ink splashes to dress up your designs. All graphics are saved as transparent png images at 300 DPI.

How can I unzip product files?

PC: To extract a single file or folder, double-click the compressed folder to open it. Then, drag the file or folder from the compressed folder to a new location. To extract the entire contents of the compressed folder, right-click the folder, click Extract All, and then follow the instructions.

Mac: Double click the .zip file, then search for the product folder or product file.

How do I install a font?

After you unzip your font product files, you will see .OTF or .TTF files. To install a font, just double click on the OTF or TTF file. For more information, check out our Font FAQ.

What software do I need to use this font?

When a font is installed on your computer, it can be used with any program that allows you to create text. Fonts will work in Microsoft Office applications, Adobe software, and almost any other program with a text editor.
