What are the different types of fonts?

While there are many ways to differentiate fonts, the main different categories to start with are serif, sans serif, script, blackletter, display/decorative, and non-Western. What is the difference between a font and a typeface?

The difference between a font and a typeface is that a typeface refers to the overall design, while a font is a specific style, size, or weight within that typeface. This is a bit confusing on its face - we think it’s a bit easier to reference an example. So if “Neue Swiss” is your typeface, "Neue Swiss Bold 12pt" might be your font. Of course, as you’ll find with anything in this wonderful world of fonts, nothing is so simple. What Font License is Right for Me?

A desktop license is the most common license and covers most commercial font usage. You can create graphic designs (logos, signs, etc.) and products (mugs, t-shirts, hats, etc.) for yourself, or your client(s). These are great for logos and branding, movie titles and captions, PDFs, cards, signs and print merchandise. Products may be sold for profit as long as the letters are not the main selling point of your product (like a house number or stamp set). Embedding fonts is not allowed with this license with a few exceptions (such as a PDF reports). All licenses on our site are perpetual, which means you pay once and use it forever. To use a font on your website, you’ll need a web font license. This type of license allows you to embed font files into the CSS code on your site. From there, site visitors can then see and temporarily use your embedded fonts! Web licenses on Creative Market are priced by pageview limits (essentially this means they are priced according to traffic). Beyond the web, we’ve also got you covered for apps and publications. Our app licenses allow you to embed font files in app code. These are best for things like games, mobile apps, and web apps. Family Holiday is one of those elegant calligraphy fonts that comes with exquisite character changes, a kind of classic copper decorative script with a modern twist, designed with great detail to bring out an elegant style.

Family Holiday is attractive because the typeface is pleasing to the eye, clean, feminine, sensual, glamorous, simple and very easy to read, thanks to the many extravagant letter relationships. I also offer a decent number of stylistic alternatives for some of the letters. very suitable to be applied in various formal forms such as invitations, labels, restaurant menus, logos, fashion, make up, stationery, novels, magazines, books, greeting/wedding cards, packaging, labels or all kinds of advertising purposes. . . . .

Family Holiday has alternative characters, including support for multiple languages. With OpenType features with alternate styles and elegant binding. The OpenType features don't work automatically, but you can access them manually and for best results your creativity is required in combining these Glyph/Character variations.

I mostly use programs that support OpenType features and the Glyphs panel such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop CC, Adobe InDesign, or CorelDraw, so that you can view and access all variations of Glyphs.

Family Holiday is encoded with Unicode PUA, which allows full access to all additional characters without having special design software. Mac users, Mac users and Windows users can use Character Map to view and copy any additional characters to paste into your favorite editor/application.

How do I contact support?: For questions about this product, message the Shop Owner via their shop profile. For all other questions, like licensing or billing, visit our Help Center.

How can I unzip product files?

PC: To extract a single file or folder, double-click the compressed folder to open it. Then, drag the file or folder from the compressed folder to a new location. To extract the entire contents of the compressed folder, right-click the folder, click Extract All, and then follow the instructions.

Mac: Double click the .zip file, then search for the product folder or product file.

How do I install a font?

After you unzip your font product files, you will see .OTF or .TTF files. To install a font, just double click on the OTF or TTF file. For more information, check out our Font FAQ.

What software do I need to use this font?

When a font is installed on your computer, it can be used with any program that allows you to create text. Fonts will work in Microsoft Office applications, Adobe software, and almost any other program with a text editor.
