Sand & Stone Texture Pack #1

The Sand & Stone Texture Pack #1 includes 12 images of texture related to sand and stone. Within this series of textures you will also find images of dirt, mud, and generally nasty natural stuff. It’s all grit and grime, and it’s all good.

Most of my photographs were taken in the Tahoe-Reno area where the harsh climate makes for fantastic texture. Although one of the photos in this pack was taken at Indian Grinding Rock State Historic Park.

When I prepare each texture file, I do so in a manner that retains as much texture/information as possible, which is why they might appear slightly dark. But more information means more flexibility with respect to their use. Edit them as you see fit in order to support whatever project for which they’ll be used. Included in the Sand & Stone Texture Pack #1 are 12 JPGs (5100x3300 pixels, 300ppi, grayscale) and 12 PNGs (5100x3300 pixels, 300ppi, transparent). I’ve also included the promo images to use as a quick reference for keeping track of the textures.

Please note that the Sand & Stone Texture Pack #1 does not include vector art. This is intentional as I seek to avoid compatibility issues with my files. JPGs and PNGs are pretty universal so you shouldn’t have any problems with them. However, the quality of these files are high enough that if you do want vector versions of any one of the textures, simply open the PNG version in AI and perform an image trace. Presto! Vector art in about three steps.

The fonts used with the promotional images for the Sand & Stone Texture Pack #1 do not come with the texture pack. You can purchase the Grindstone Vintage Font Family from https://creativemarket.com/VintageTypeCo.
