What are the different types of fonts?

While there are many ways to differentiate fonts, the main different categories to start with are serif, sans serif, script, blackletter, display/decorative, and non-Western. What is the difference between a font and a typeface?

The difference between a font and a typeface is that a typeface refers to the overall design, while a font is a specific style, size, or weight within that typeface. This is a bit confusing on its face - we think it’s a bit easier to reference an example. So if “Neue Swiss” is your typeface, "Neue Swiss Bold 12pt" might be your font. Of course, as you’ll find with anything in this wonderful world of fonts, nothing is so simple. What Font License is Right for Me?

A desktop license is the most common license and covers most commercial font usage. You can create graphic designs (logos, signs, etc.) and products (mugs, t-shirts, hats, etc.) for yourself, or your client(s). These are great for logos and branding, movie titles and captions, PDFs, cards, signs and print merchandise. Products may be sold for profit as long as the letters are not the main selling point of your product (like a house number or stamp set). Embedding fonts is not allowed with this license with a few exceptions (such as a PDF reports). All licenses on our site are perpetual, which means you pay once and use it forever. To use a font on your website, you’ll need a web font license. This type of license allows you to embed font files into the CSS code on your site. From there, site visitors can then see and temporarily use your embedded fonts! Web licenses on Creative Market are priced by pageview limits (essentially this means they are priced according to traffic). Beyond the web, we’ve also got you covered for apps and publications. Our app licenses allow you to embed font files in app code. These are best for things like games, mobile apps, and web apps. Introducing TIME TO CELEBRATE, an installable metallic gold font with confetti embellishment. With the proper software, you can easily type this hand-crafted font and add a really fun look to your digital pieces within seconds!

Now, before purchase, you have to make sure you are using the correct software. I am a HUGE Ps CS6 fan, and I actually had to breakdown and start using Ps CC 2017 to create and install my newest fonts. If you are not using the latest version of Ps, just update and you will be good to go. This is an OpenType SVG font and will show up in your glyphs panel. This font will show up only in apps that are compatible with color bitmap fonts, like Adobe Photoshop CC 2017.0.1 It comes as a special OpenType .otf font file, in which each character is encoded with two image formats: OpenType-SVG and SBIX. Please don't purchase if you are on a lower version, you WILL NOT be able to use my product! With your purchase you will receive a downloadable zip file of TIME TO CELEBRATE. It is an upper and lower case mixed font that was hand painted on paper with watercolors. It was then given it's metallic and confetti effects digitally, and processed through a new technology that allows you to type in metallic gold! You will receive 26 letters, 10 numbers, and a small sampling of basic punctuation. You will have lots of fun watching the confetti overlap as the letters interact with each other!

How can I unzip product files?

PC: To extract a single file or folder, double-click the compressed folder to open it. Then, drag the file or folder from the compressed folder to a new location. To extract the entire contents of the compressed folder, right-click the folder, click Extract All, and then follow the instructions.

Mac: Double click the .zip file, then search for the product folder or product file.

How do I install a font?

After you unzip your font product files, you will see .OTF or .TTF files. To install a font, just double click on the OTF or TTF file. For more information, check out our Font FAQ.

What software do I need to use this font?

When a font is installed on your computer, it can be used with any program that allows you to create text. Fonts will work in Microsoft Office applications, Adobe software, and almost any other program with a text editor.
