2021 Update!
Mighty Aphrodite just got a huge update!
All glyphs have been recreated from scratch to ensure clean, smooth lines. I have increased the multilingual support so that this font now supports over 50 languages (take a look below to see the full list of languages supported). And there are now over 60 ligatures and over 200 alternate letters!
Introducing my very first font "Mighty Aphrodite"!
This classy, yet modern, font was inspired by a basic serif typeface found in a vintage lettering book from the 1970s. To give it extra allure, I created several alternative letters with beautifully balanced curves and swashes. This is a very versatile font that can be used for a wide range of projects such as branding, magazines, editorials, wedding invites, logo designs, posters, social media, and so much more!
Use the basic serif version for a bold look or add in some of the alternate letters to give your design an extra oomph! To access the alternate letters (and ligatures!), use OpenType features to select the characters you're looking for.
Features:
- OTF, TTF, WOFF, and WOFF2 (for desktop and web use)
- Upper and lowercase letters
- Numbers and punctuation
- Accented characters for the international designer
- 60+ standard and discretionary ligatures
- Over 200 alternate letters
Languages Supported: Afrikaans, Albanian, Basque, Bokmål, Bosnian, Breton, Catalan, Cornish, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Esperanto, Estonian, Faroese, Filipino, Finnish, French, Frisian, Friulian, Gaelic (Irish), Gaelic (Manx), Gaelic (Scottish), Gagauz (Latin), Galician, German, Hawaiian, Hungarian, Icelandic, Indonesian, Irish, Italian, Karelian, Ladin, Latvian, Lithuanian, Luxembourgish, Malay, Maltese, Norwegian, Nynorsk, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Sami, Serbian (Latin), Slovak, Slovenian, Sorbian, Spanish, Swedish, Swiss German, Turkish, and Welsh.
If a letter is missing or if you have a request for one not already included in the font, please, let me know and I will include it in a future update!
Need Help Accessing Alternate Characters?
Alternate characters are an OpenType feature so you want to make sure that you at least install the OTF file (OpenType Font). Once the font is installed you can access those letters by opening the glyphs panel/menu in whichever application or program you are using.
If you’re using Adobe Photoshop, select the type tool (T) and make sure you have Aphrodite selected and go to Window Glyphs and then double-click on the letter you want to use. If using Adobe Illustrator, you’ll go to Window Type Glyphs.
There are plenty of other ways to access the alternate characters outside of Adobe applications, like with MS Word or with your computer’s font manager (ex. Font Book). Check out this link that does a great job explaining how to access alternate characters in various programs: https://fontsgood.net/alternate-characters-opentype/
For those who may be wondering, this font was previously named "Aphrodite", but due to a naming dispute has since been changed to "Mighty Aphrodite".
