About
PLEASE NOTE: A COMMERCIAL/EXTENDED COMMERCIAL LICENSE DOES NOT GIVE YOU PERMISSION TO RESELL THIS PRODUCT.
This set of KDP Book Mockups for Canva features 11 individual mockups for displaying your book covers, spines, and page designs. It is fully editable and all mockup objects are moveable. The custom Canva container frames make it quick and easy to add your cover or page designs.
The mockups included accommodate the following common KDP sizes (in inches):
- 6 x 9 inches
- 5 x 8 inches
- 5.5 x 8.5 inches
- 5.25 x 8 inches
- 6 x 8 inches
- 8 x 10 inches
- 8.5 x 11 inches
- 7 x 10 inches
- 8.5 x 8.5 inches, or any square ratio
Also included are 3 different spine widths to accommodate thin, regular or thicker books.
Please note that in order for your page and cover mockups to fit well, you need to have a good margin on each edges of your designs, at least half an inch (2cm). Common sizes used in the mockups (e.g. Mockup 1 fits 6×9 | 5×8 | 5.5×8.5 | 5.25×8 books), vary very slightly from each other but are close enough in ratio to fit into the same mockup area if your margins are sized as suggested.

How to use these KDP Book Mockups for Canva
Once you download the User PDF, navigate to the last page where you’ll find the license details and also the link to access the KDP Book mockups template. The link will take you to a single Canva template containing all 11 mockups.
To use the mockups, all you need to do is drag and drop your JPG or PNG (not transparent is best) design straight into the custom-created container frames. Your design will look like it’s been printed on the book cover or pages. Just like it would in a Photoshop mockup. The spine fold shadows will remain visible over your design. You can edit them to be darker or lighter, depending on how dark or light your design is. See the PDF user guide with more detailed info. The Canva file also contains detailed user instructions for each mockup in the page notes.
Once you’ve opened the template it will save in your designs folder. When you open a new design, navigate to the ‘projects’ folder in the left sidebar, find this template (you’ll recognize it by the cover graphic), click on it, then select the page you want to insert into your new design. This way you won’t be editing the original either.
You can customize all surface colors with one click. Drag and drop or clip your design onto the mockup surface of your choice, add your own background color or texture, add objects from any of my Scene Creator bundles to customize further and add interest to your designs. Drop shadows can be edited by selecting just the shadow section of the object and adjusting the tint, blur or opacity. Instructions are included in the download PDF.

Dreadful. Completely dulls down the colors of your cover. I can't change the settings. Wish I had of know. Waste of money
Hi Cheralyn, please read the extensive page notes on each page of the template. The transparency of all container frames can be decreased to increase the intensity of your added design. The shadow overlays (e.g. gutter shadows) can also be individually darkened or lightened to be more visible. I hope this helps you make better use of the mockup. :)

FAQs
- How do I access my Canva Mockup?
- On purchase you'll receive a PDF document containing a usage guide and also the link to access the live, editable Canva template containing your mockup. It's usually on page 4 of the PDF. Make sure you are logged into your Canva account in your default browser before clicking on the access button. When you click on it, you will be taken to Canva to a window prompting you to open an editable copy of the template in your Canva account. Follow the prompt to access the template. The template itself also contains individualised usge guideines in the page notes. If you have any problems accessing or using any of my templates, please reach out. Happy designing!
- Who are my Canva Mockup Templates for?
- Canva designers with some experience and who want maximum customisation of mockups inside Canva. If you actually want to design and not use a generic mockup that's the same as what everyone else is using, then these are for you. All of my mockup objects are isolated and moveable so that you can enlarge or reduce, move and layer them to create your own unique composite mockup layouts. Drag and drop your design/s into the custom container frames, add your own background colour, texture, or scene, and props. The better your design skills, the better your end mockup composites will look.
- What's different about my Canva mockups vs other Canva mockups?
- Canva's own in-house mockups have restrictions: Many have fixed backgrounds that you can't change, and those that don't have fixed backgrounds don't allow customisation like section editing or editing of drop shadows. And often texture integrity of the underlying object is copromised. Canva mockups by other sellers are most often just PNG overlays that are placed over your design. This is restrictive as it doesn't allow editing of the background. And you have to manage layers every time you want to add a new design. My Canva mockups combine the best of all Canva mockup features. 1. They are isolated and moveable so no restrictions on size or page orientation. 2. Many have multiple sectional frames for adding your designs to (e.g. apparel mockups will have separate frames for sleeves, collars, shirt panels, etc) instead of one overall frame that makes your design look flat. 3. Many of my mockups also have shadow and shine overlays that you can make darker or lighter and that allows maximum intensity of colour for your added design. 4. All of my mockups have separate editable drop shadows that you can darken or lighten, or colour edit using the Duotone filter, for better background blending. 5. All of my mockups are moveable and have transparent backgrounds so you can layer them, and easily change the background colour, texture, or scene. 6. And, of course, all my mockups have drag and drop functionality so no fiddling around with layers. I'm also constantly updating and improving my mockups as Canva updates their functionality and tools to ensure they are up to date and work in the most effective way inside Canva.
