What are the different types of fonts?

While there are many ways to differentiate fonts, the main different categories to start with are serif, sans serif, script, blackletter, display/decorative, and non-Western. What is the difference between a font and a typeface?

The difference between a font and a typeface is that a typeface refers to the overall design, while a font is a specific style, size, or weight within that typeface. This is a bit confusing on its face - we think it’s a bit easier to reference an example. So if “Neue Swiss” is your typeface, "Neue Swiss Bold 12pt" might be your font. Of course, as you’ll find with anything in this wonderful world of fonts, nothing is so simple. What Font License is Right for Me?

A desktop license is the most common license and covers most commercial font usage. You can create graphic designs (logos, signs, etc.) and products (mugs, t-shirts, hats, etc.) for yourself, or your client(s). These are great for logos and branding, movie titles and captions, PDFs, cards, signs and print merchandise. Products may be sold for profit as long as the letters are not the main selling point of your product (like a house number or stamp set). Embedding fonts is not allowed with this license with a few exceptions (such as a PDF reports). All licenses on our site are perpetual, which means you pay once and use it forever. To use a font on your website, you’ll need a web font license. This type of license allows you to embed font files into the CSS code on your site. From there, site visitors can then see and temporarily use your embedded fonts! Web licenses on Creative Market are priced by pageview limits (essentially this means they are priced according to traffic). Beyond the web, we’ve also got you covered for apps and publications. Our app licenses allow you to embed font files in app code. These are best for things like games, mobile apps, and web apps. Say hello for calligraphy font debut “English Channel” – my new contemporary stylish font duo.

“English Channel” is high fashion font duo that makes for gorgeous logos, posters, wedding invitations, blog posts, social media, and more! I love using these two fonts together, so it looks like the script is running through the lines of the serif.

English Channel Regular Script font includes a lot of ligatures, beginning and ending letters, with awesome swashes and a lot of alternate letters, which are very easy to get (without using Glyphs Panel).

You can reach alternate letters through the glyph panel as standard. But I also wanted to simplify the work for you, so you can choose the letter option even easier:

just type the number after any letter ( 1…3 for uppercase, 1…3 for lowercase)”. So, you can forget about the Glyphs panel and have fun and great results just type numbers after letters

English Channel Uppercase Font consisted of capital handwritten letters with organic texture letters and also have cool ligatures to decorate texts and give them even more personality

Both fonts come with PUA Unicode that gives you full access to the ligatures and alternates in software that doesn't support the extra characters. To access these characters you can use Font Book (Mac) or Character Map (Windows).

All fonts include multilingual support, which include Western European, Central European and South Eastern European languages. Please type characters in text box below to check any characters you need.

Love the font (duo). However, I must be duo illiterate....tried downloading a dozen times. I did NOT realize it was 1 in the same font. Even tho 2 are listed. Knowing that in advance could've lessened the confusion. I could see 2 NAMES OF BOTH FONTS in Word but not in Corel Draw. I went back to Corel and did see ONLY the script one appeared. But little did I know, that when I hovered over, the other one appeared. I know other fonts with "swashes, starts & ends" this is standard with a 1 named font...but I have never heard of that happening with a script & a non-script SAME NAMED font. Another thing, the special characters: raised "I" or swirly "S" & others don't appear always. It took another 15 min to figure out they needed TO BE IN LOWERCASE in order for them to work, which is kinda hard to SEE when they ALL ARE UPPER CASE IN STYLE. Love the font duo but would have loved it more with more clarity or a more accurate description. Thanks!

Thanks for your feedback. I regret, that you had difficulties with downloading, I can’t influence it at all because the font was uploaded directly to the Creative market servers and it is from there that customers download it. If you want the font names to be different, and this way it will be easier for your work, then let me know (write to the mail) and I will change the font names for you. Irina

How can I unzip product files?

PC: To extract a single file or folder, double-click the compressed folder to open it. Then, drag the file or folder from the compressed folder to a new location. To extract the entire contents of the compressed folder, right-click the folder, click Extract All, and then follow the instructions.

Mac: Double click the .zip file, then search for the product folder or product file.

How do I install a font?

After you unzip your font product files, you will see .OTF or .TTF files. To install a font, just double click on the OTF or TTF file. For more information, check out our Font FAQ.

What software do I need to use this font?

When a font is installed on your computer, it can be used with any program that allows you to create text. Fonts will work in Microsoft Office applications, Adobe software, and almost any other program with a text editor.
