I can see lines over the background, or the background doesn't look right.

- Make sure you are working in RGB color mode. If you want to end up with a CMYK file, work in RGB mode and then convert to CMYK when finished.
- You can replace the layer named 'BG' or Background (or place an image a layer above it)

Do you have an extended license for this file?

No. No extended license for now.

How can I put this on a transparent background? (I have a black box around the letters)

When you have a background underneath the characters you should not see a black box surrounding as the layers are set to a 'Layer mode' that should turn them invisible.

But if you are after a more true alpha to put on a transparent background then try this:
On diffuse layer there should be a layer mask. Apply this layer mask to every layer. (Refraction, reflection etc) except Shadow layer. On Shadow layer, make a new layer mask, then copy the contents of the shadow layer into the mask and inverse it. This should give you a mask on each layer through to transparency.
