What are the different types of fonts?

While there are many ways to differentiate fonts, the main different categories to start with are serif, sans serif, script, blackletter, display/decorative, and non-Western. What is the difference between a font and a typeface?

The difference between a font and a typeface is that a typeface refers to the overall design, while a font is a specific style, size, or weight within that typeface. This is a bit confusing on its face - we think it’s a bit easier to reference an example. So if “Neue Swiss” is your typeface, "Neue Swiss Bold 12pt" might be your font. Of course, as you’ll find with anything in this wonderful world of fonts, nothing is so simple. What Font License is Right for Me?

A desktop license is the most common license and covers most commercial font usage. You can create graphic designs (logos, signs, etc.) and products (mugs, t-shirts, hats, etc.) for yourself, or your client(s). These are great for logos and branding, movie titles and captions, PDFs, cards, signs and print merchandise. Products may be sold for profit as long as the letters are not the main selling point of your product (like a house number or stamp set). Embedding fonts is not allowed with this license with a few exceptions (such as a PDF reports). All licenses on our site are perpetual, which means you pay once and use it forever. To use a font on your website, you’ll need a web font license. This type of license allows you to embed font files into the CSS code on your site. From there, site visitors can then see and temporarily use your embedded fonts! Web licenses on Creative Market are priced by pageview limits (essentially this means they are priced according to traffic). Beyond the web, we’ve also got you covered for apps and publications. Our app licenses allow you to embed font files in app code. These are best for things like games, mobile apps, and web apps. We did simple research on the signature font and we found several important notes that are often seen in a signature.

The first thing is that initial letters are usually uppercase letters that have full power as an attraction, shape and size are very prominent, usually very large so that the limit of ascender and descender is very long.

The second thing is the lowercase letters flowing to the same rhythm, so each lowercase letter must be connected perfectly.

The third thing, some signatures begin and end with a long, firm horizontal line, so we complement this font with alternate titling and swash.

The fourth thing is “conical”, the appearance of the whole text usually starts large at the beginning to shrink at the end of the word, sometimes there is an emphasis at the end.

The fifth thing is that some letter combinations differ from the basic references, so ligature is something that is mandatory in the signature font.

The sixth thing, some signatures are sprinkled with lines under the text, so this font is equipped with 26 swashes.

It is the combination of these six concepts that we frame in Holimount. A masculine signature font, elegant and full of mystery that invites people to want to know more about the brand that you created with this font.

How can I unzip product files?

PC: To extract a single file or folder, double-click the compressed folder to open it. Then, drag the file or folder from the compressed folder to a new location. To extract the entire contents of the compressed folder, right-click the folder, click Extract All, and then follow the instructions.

Mac: Double click the .zip file, then search for the product folder or product file.

How do I install a font?

After you unzip your font product files, you will see .OTF or .TTF files. To install a font, just double click on the OTF or TTF file. For more information, check out our Font FAQ.

What software do I need to use this font?

When a font is installed on your computer, it can be used with any program that allows you to create text. Fonts will work in Microsoft Office applications, Adobe software, and almost any other program with a text editor.
