About the Product
For those Hacienda nerds: The movie 24 Hour Party People (link here: http://bitly.ws/x3Qk) vividly tells the story of the famous nightclub called The Hacienda. But for those of us too young to remember Wikipedia conveniently says: The club opened in 1982, eventually fostering the Manchester acid house and rave scene in the late 1980s.
This old school rave flyer: "The Hacienda Acid House Flyer" and the point of convergence: the baby in planet utero was influenced by the podcast "Ecstasy the Battle of the Rave" (see link here: http://bitly.ws/wZCU) whereby one of the punters interviewed mentioned that he was conceived in a cove of the Hacienda. Let's be honest here... never let the truth get in the way of a good story!
Moreover, conception and birth imagery is reminiscent of early rave art. One can only assume that these illustrations were appropriate as they communicated that by simply attending a rave, one is rebirthed to a new world or a new beginning. Entering an advanced world free from oppression and authoritarian regimes (Thatcher). Fundamentally it's letting go and being one with the music.
Planets were also heavily borrowed at the time of 1988 and 1989 in rave flyer artwork because they (The artist/promoter) desired to broadcast an out-of-body awakening. Endeavouring to disseminate the perfect combination of ecstasy and electronic music suggests that man's place is minuscule in the grand scheme of the universe. In other words Stephen Hawking and the theory of Quantum Mechanics.
The graphics possess a bleedy Artline pen thereby chronicling a nostalgic form to offer the viewer genuine legitimacy. The sun character has been borrowed from other early rave flyer productions (see here: http://bitly.ws/x4Ky)
You can make use of these graphics essentially for Tee shirts, billboards, night club flyers, social media digital media, tickets, and signage as you please. You could even use this to make a cover for a vinyl release. Your imaginative efforts are infinite!
