What are the different types of fonts?

While there are many ways to differentiate fonts, the main different categories to start with are serif, sans serif, script, blackletter, display/decorative, and non-Western. What is the difference between a font and a typeface?

The difference between a font and a typeface is that a typeface refers to the overall design, while a font is a specific style, size, or weight within that typeface. This is a bit confusing on its face - we think it’s a bit easier to reference an example. So if “Neue Swiss” is your typeface, "Neue Swiss Bold 12pt" might be your font. Of course, as you’ll find with anything in this wonderful world of fonts, nothing is so simple. What Font License is Right for Me?

A desktop license is the most common license and covers most commercial font usage. You can create graphic designs (logos, signs, etc.) and products (mugs, t-shirts, hats, etc.) for yourself, or your client(s). These are great for logos and branding, movie titles and captions, PDFs, cards, signs and print merchandise. Products may be sold for profit as long as the letters are not the main selling point of your product (like a house number or stamp set). Embedding fonts is not allowed with this license with a few exceptions (such as a PDF reports). All licenses on our site are perpetual, which means you pay once and use it forever. To use a font on your website, you’ll need a web font license. This type of license allows you to embed font files into the CSS code on your site. From there, site visitors can then see and temporarily use your embedded fonts! Web licenses on Creative Market are priced by pageview limits (essentially this means they are priced according to traffic). Beyond the web, we’ve also got you covered for apps and publications. Our app licenses allow you to embed font files in app code. These are best for things like games, mobile apps, and web apps. Introducing the Forever Awesome Font Duo! A delightfully playful set of hand-drawn fonts, designed to mimic lively, imperfect and friendly lettering. It's a charming choice for personal-feel logo designs, quotes, packaging, kid-friendly products, fun greeting cards and more.

Included in the set are three fonts. The Script font includes a full set of alternate upper and lowercase characters available as it's own separate font, Script Alt. The Script fonts include 69 ligatures - these are unique double and triple letter combinations, designed to help letters flow more naturally and give you even more layout options for each word. Last but not least, there is an All Caps font included, containing 2 sets of uppercase characters (simply switch between upper and lowercase to access each set). This font set is perfectly designed to compliment the Script font, ideal for smaller sub-text, or when you want to go big with your all-caps lettering while avoiding letters clashing.

Language Support • All fonts include language support for English, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Indonesian, Malay, Hungarian, Polish, Croatian, Turkish, Romanian, Czech, Latvian, Lithuanian, Slovak, Slovenian.

Accessing Ligatures • Simply turn on Standard Ligatures and ligatures will automatically generate when available (see images for full list of ligatures). Ligatures are also available via the Glyphs panel. The font is also PUA encoded, meaning all letters can be pasted from Font Book (mac) or Character Map (windows) into non-compatible software.

How can I unzip product files?

PC: To extract a single file or folder, double-click the compressed folder to open it. Then, drag the file or folder from the compressed folder to a new location. To extract the entire contents of the compressed folder, right-click the folder, click Extract All, and then follow the instructions.

Mac: Double click the .zip file, then search for the product folder or product file.

How do I install a font?

After you unzip your font product files, you will see .OTF or .TTF files. To install a font, just double click on the OTF or TTF file. For more information, check out our Font FAQ.

What software do I need to use this font?

When a font is installed on your computer, it can be used with any program that allows you to create text. Fonts will work in Microsoft Office applications, Adobe software, and almost any other program with a text editor.
