What are the different types of fonts?

While there are many ways to differentiate fonts, the main different categories to start with are serif, sans serif, script, blackletter, display/decorative, and non-Western. What is the difference between a font and a typeface?

The difference between a font and a typeface is that a typeface refers to the overall design, while a font is a specific style, size, or weight within that typeface. This is a bit confusing on its face - we think it’s a bit easier to reference an example. So if “Neue Swiss” is your typeface, "Neue Swiss Bold 12pt" might be your font. Of course, as you’ll find with anything in this wonderful world of fonts, nothing is so simple. What Font License is Right for Me?

A desktop license is the most common license and covers most commercial font usage. You can create graphic designs (logos, signs, etc.) and products (mugs, t-shirts, hats, etc.) for yourself, or your client(s). These are great for logos and branding, movie titles and captions, PDFs, cards, signs and print merchandise. Products may be sold for profit as long as the letters are not the main selling point of your product (like a house number or stamp set). Embedding fonts is not allowed with this license with a few exceptions (such as a PDF reports). All licenses on our site are perpetual, which means you pay once and use it forever. To use a font on your website, you’ll need a web font license. This type of license allows you to embed font files into the CSS code on your site. From there, site visitors can then see and temporarily use your embedded fonts! Web licenses on Creative Market are priced by pageview limits (essentially this means they are priced according to traffic). Beyond the web, we’ve also got you covered for apps and publications. Our app licenses allow you to embed font files in app code. These are best for things like games, mobile apps, and web apps. StockMamba presents Bandito Script – an urban tattoo script font with over 250 glyphs, multilingual support, loads of alternates for the lowercase letters, and a set of bonus flourish elements.

NOTE: Bandito is a single font with alternate characters inside the font itself. To access the alternate characters, select the character you want to change, right click the character and a menu of the alternates will show below that character. Then simply double click the character you want to use instead. Alternatively, you can use the glyphs panel in whatever application you are using to view all of the characters in the file.

The bonus swashes have been added as an alternate font. Type capital A-L to display them. Lower case a-l will display a mirror image of the capital letter versions.

I cannot even open this font on my computer although I have tried many times. I have even followed the instructions sent to me and it is still not opening. I have failed and am frustrated....I wish they would make it more accessible...I have never had a problem purchasing fonts from other sites. ALSO they do not have it in TTF which I use most. Very disappointed... THANK YOU for updating to a ttf too...be blessed. Now I need to know how to get it to upload and use it...keep safe!

How can I unzip product files?

PC: To extract a single file or folder, double-click the compressed folder to open it. Then, drag the file or folder from the compressed folder to a new location. To extract the entire contents of the compressed folder, right-click the folder, click Extract All, and then follow the instructions.

Mac: Double click the .zip file, then search for the product folder or product file.

How do I install a font?

After you unzip your font product files, you will see .OTF or .TTF files. To install a font, just double click on the OTF or TTF file. For more information, check out our Font FAQ.

What software do I need to use this font?

When a font is installed on your computer, it can be used with any program that allows you to create text. Fonts will work in Microsoft Office applications, Adobe software, and almost any other program with a text editor.
