What are the different types of fonts?

While there are many ways to differentiate fonts, the main different categories to start with are serif, sans serif, script, blackletter, display/decorative, and non-Western. What is the difference between a font and a typeface?

The difference between a font and a typeface is that a typeface refers to the overall design, while a font is a specific style, size, or weight within that typeface. This is a bit confusing on its face - we think it’s a bit easier to reference an example. So if “Neue Swiss” is your typeface, "Neue Swiss Bold 12pt" might be your font. Of course, as you’ll find with anything in this wonderful world of fonts, nothing is so simple. What Font License is Right for Me?

A desktop license is the most common license and covers most commercial font usage. You can create graphic designs (logos, signs, etc.) and products (mugs, t-shirts, hats, etc.) for yourself, or your client(s). These are great for logos and branding, movie titles and captions, PDFs, cards, signs and print merchandise. Products may be sold for profit as long as the letters are not the main selling point of your product (like a house number or stamp set). Embedding fonts is not allowed with this license with a few exceptions (such as a PDF reports). All licenses on our site are perpetual, which means you pay once and use it forever. To use a font on your website, you’ll need a web font license. This type of license allows you to embed font files into the CSS code on your site. From there, site visitors can then see and temporarily use your embedded fonts! Web licenses on Creative Market are priced by pageview limits (essentially this means they are priced according to traffic). Beyond the web, we’ve also got you covered for apps and publications. Our app licenses allow you to embed font files in app code. These are best for things like games, mobile apps, and web apps. I'm happy to introduce you to Magnite - A handwritten brush font jam-packed with character and authentic charm. Designed to be versatile, Magnite is perfect for branding projects, editorial work, invitation design, product packaging, and everything in between!

What's Included?

1. Magnite - The original handcrafted font family containing uppercase and lowercase glyphs alongside a large range of punctuation, symbols, numerals, and multilingual support. Also included in this font are discretionary ligature swashes (activated by typing in 1--, 2--, etc, as illustrated in the above presentation).

2. Magnite Alt - This font contains a whole new range of lowercase and uppercase letters (a bonus ampersand too!). By using this font in combination with the original you can improve the overall authenticity of your typography!

3. Magnite & Magnite Alt Italic - I often prefer italic brush scripts, so I've included an italic style for both the Original and Alt fonts.

NEW 2020 UPDATE - A smooth alternative for each for the typefaces above!

Each font is available in both TTF and OTF formats. For Mac users, I recommend installing the TTF format as FontBook can flag up issues with detailed OTF fonts such as this one. The only difference between the two is the size of the file.

How do I contact support?: For questions about this product, message the Shop Owner via their shop profile. For all other questions, like licensing or billing, visit our Help Center.

How can I unzip product files?

PC: To extract a single file or folder, double-click the compressed folder to open it. Then, drag the file or folder from the compressed folder to a new location. To extract the entire contents of the compressed folder, right-click the folder, click Extract All, and then follow the instructions.

Mac: Double click the .zip file, then search for the product folder or product file.

How do I install a font?

After you unzip your font product files, you will see .OTF or .TTF files. To install a font, just double click on the OTF or TTF file. For more information, check out our Font FAQ.

What software do I need to use this font?

When a font is installed on your computer, it can be used with any program that allows you to create text. Fonts will work in Microsoft Office applications, Adobe software, and almost any other program with a text editor.
