What are the different types of fonts?

While there are many ways to differentiate fonts, the main different categories to start with are serif, sans serif, script, blackletter, display/decorative, and non-Western. What is the difference between a font and a typeface?

The difference between a font and a typeface is that a typeface refers to the overall design, while a font is a specific style, size, or weight within that typeface. This is a bit confusing on its face - we think it’s a bit easier to reference an example. So if “Neue Swiss” is your typeface, "Neue Swiss Bold 12pt" might be your font. Of course, as you’ll find with anything in this wonderful world of fonts, nothing is so simple. What Font License is Right for Me?

A desktop license is the most common license and covers most commercial font usage. You can create graphic designs (logos, signs, etc.) and products (mugs, t-shirts, hats, etc.) for yourself, or your client(s). These are great for logos and branding, movie titles and captions, PDFs, cards, signs and print merchandise. Products may be sold for profit as long as the letters are not the main selling point of your product (like a house number or stamp set). Embedding fonts is not allowed with this license with a few exceptions (such as a PDF reports). All licenses on our site are perpetual, which means you pay once and use it forever. To use a font on your website, you’ll need a web font license. This type of license allows you to embed font files into the CSS code on your site. From there, site visitors can then see and temporarily use your embedded fonts! Web licenses on Creative Market are priced by pageview limits (essentially this means they are priced according to traffic). Beyond the web, we’ve also got you covered for apps and publications. Our app licenses allow you to embed font files in app code. These are best for things like games, mobile apps, and web apps. Introducing Candelabra, a gothic and fantasy inspired blackletter font. Letting out my inner nerd :P with this one!

Candelabra is a gothic blackletter font full of medieval mysticism and age. An ideal choice for tattoo studios, band logos and album art, trendy fashion apparel, book covers, game design, packaging design and more. Historical and modern aesthetics are both easily achieved with this personality rich font.

Upper and lowercase letters are included, along with ligatures, numerals and punctuation. (See preview image for the full character map.)

BONUSES As part of the download, I've included some bonus extras! A set of 8 high resolution layer styles are included. Simply change the text in the supplied .psd file and click on a layer style to apply it. The layer styles include; Aged Metal, Dull Gold, Bright Gold, Sword Steel, Tyrant Skin, Barbarian Flesh, Dragon Hide and Hell's Floor.

Also included are 10 flares (5 starburst and 5 horizontal) to add an extra glow and magical high specular highlight to your letters. These are supplied in a single .psd file with transparency.

Great looking font. It's a nice blend between blackletter with a bit of grunge. Works great for when I'm feeling mid-2000's and wanting that grunge style again but wanting that cleanliness of a blackletter font. Hoping to see a clean-cut version of this for when I'm feeling sharp, simple and clean. Thanks for the cool font! <3

How can I unzip product files?

PC: To extract a single file or folder, double-click the compressed folder to open it. Then, drag the file or folder from the compressed folder to a new location. To extract the entire contents of the compressed folder, right-click the folder, click Extract All, and then follow the instructions.

Mac: Double click the .zip file, then search for the product folder or product file.

How do I install a font?

After you unzip your font product files, you will see .OTF or .TTF files. To install a font, just double click on the OTF or TTF file. For more information, check out our Font FAQ.

What software do I need to use this font?

When a font is installed on your computer, it can be used with any program that allows you to create text. Fonts will work in Microsoft Office applications, Adobe software, and almost any other program with a text editor.
