Grafita — display sans serif
About
Grafita is a two-style typeface system combining a restrained geometric sans serif with a more expressive alternative style. Together, the two styles let designers move between clean, controlled typography and a more distinctive visual treatment while remaining within the same overall typographic family.
Grafita Normal is a versatile geometric grotesque designed for clean typography, headlines, branding, editorial layouts, presentations, websites, and other applications that benefit from a precise and contemporary sans serif.
Grafita Special introduces a more unconventional set of letterforms, transforming the restrained geometry into a distinctive display style. It is especially effective for logos, headlines, posters, covers, packaging, social media graphics, advertising, and identity work where typography needs to attract attention.
Both styles support Latin and Cyrillic scripts with broad multilingual coverage. Grafita Normal contains 621 glyphs, while Grafita Special contains 629 glyphs. Both styles include standard and discretionary ligatures, Romanian and Bulgarian localized forms, fractions, numerator and denominator figures, superscript and subscript figures, monospaced figures, case-sensitive forms, and 6 stylistic sets, including localized forms within two of the sets.
The pairing of a structured base with a more expressive style makes Grafita particularly useful for branding and visual identity systems: one style can provide consistency and readability, while the other can create emphasis and a recognizable signature.
