Qilljoy — display sans serif

Qilljoy is a two-style grotesque typeface combining a clean geometric foundation with an expressive alternative style. Qilljoy Normal provides a restrained, contemporary sans serif for clear typography, while Qilljoy Special introduces unexpected handwritten-inspired forms that give the family a more distinctive and playful character.

The Special style is built around the contrast between geometric construction and irregular letterforms. Several characters take on handwritten shapes, and combinations of these forms create a large number of distinctive ligatures, allowing designers to introduce variation and personality into individual words and compositions.

Qilljoy works particularly well for logos, branding, headlines, posters, packaging, presentations, merchandise, social media, editorial graphics, and other identity-focused applications.

Qilljoy Normal contains 666 glyphs, while Qilljoy Special contains 733 glyphs. Both styles support Latin and Cyrillic scripts with broad multilingual coverage and include standard and discretionary ligatures, Romanian, Bulgarian, Bashkir, Chuvash, and Catalan localized forms, fractions, numerator and denominator figures, superscript and subscript figures, monospaced figures, ordinals, and case-sensitive forms. The family also includes 8 stylistic sets, with localized forms included in five of them. Qilljoy Special contains an expanded set of ligatures compared with Qilljoy Normal.

The combination of a controlled Normal style and expressive Special style makes Qilljoy useful when a project needs typography that can shift between clean and functional and unexpected and characterful while remaining recognizably part of the same typeface.
