About Creative Market Fonts

Fonts are at the heart of Creative Market. Here you’ll find more than %totalResults% typefaces, each created by independent artists from around the world. Why do fonts matter? We believe that fonts have the capacity to tell a story, communicate ideas , stir emotion , and express intent. When you choose a font you’re not just choosing letters on a screen, you’re choosing from thousands of voices, styles, moods, and perspectives. Our catalog covers a wide stylistic range. Need a retro pixel vibe for your throwback design? Maybe you found our site looking for a sleek variable font to adapt seamlessly across devices. Perhaps a display font for your new site header? Whatever it is, we’ve got you covered. Our library includes everything from expressive scripts to no-nonsense monospaced families. We pride ourselves on unique, thoughtful design of every kind, which is how we’ve become the go-to destination for unique font families. If you aren’t sure where to start, check out some of our handpicked curated finds or best sellers .

What are the different types of fonts?

While there are many ways to differentiate fonts, the main different categories to start with are serif, sans serif, script, blackletter, display/decorative, and non-Western. However, this is a nuanced topic - with a rich history, a range of opinions, and many different approaches. For a more detailed breakdown, check out our blog on different font styles here .

What is the difference between a font and a typeface?

The difference between a font and a typeface is that a typeface refers to the overall design, while a font is a specific style, size, or weight within that typeface. This is a bit confusing on its face - we think it’s a bit easier to reference an example. So if “Neue Swiss” is your typeface, "Neue Swiss Bold 12pt" might be your font. Of course, as you’ll find with anything in this wonderful world of fonts, nothing is so simple. For a fuller, more nuanced take (or if you just want to nerd out) you can check out a whole article about this topic here: What is a Typeface and How Is it Different from a Font?

What Font License is Right for Me?

A desktop license is the most common license and covers most commercial font usage. You can create graphic designs (logos, signs, etc.) and products (mugs, t-shirts, hats, etc.) for yourself, or your client(s). These are great for logos and branding, movie titles and captions, PDFs, cards, signs and print merchandise. Products may be sold for profit as long as the letters are not the main selling point of your product (like a house number or stamp set). Embedding fonts is not allowed with this license with a few exceptions (such as a PDF reports). All licenses on our site are perpetual, which means you pay once and use it forever. To use a font on your website, you’ll need a web font license. This type of license allows you to embed font files into the CSS code on your site. From there, site visitors can then see and temporarily use your embedded fonts! Web licenses on Creative Market are priced by pageview limits (essentially this means they are priced according to traffic). Beyond the web, we’ve also got you covered for apps and publications. Our app licenses allow you to embed font files in app code. These are best for things like games, mobile apps, and web apps. Our e-pub licenses are best for ebooks and digital magazines - where you would want to embed the fonts directly into your files. Here’s a helpful walk through on font use in e-books! Creative Market also offers Worry-Free font licensing for enterprise clients. Learn more about our enterprise business offerings here . Still have questions about our licenses? Get more information about all of our font licenses here . You can also chat with our licensing assistant, Creative Mark, who can help answer questions. You can knock on his door in the bottom right corner of your desktop screen.

About

Updated July 21 to include an installable color font!

I'm very excited to release this update, an installable font made with the help of the Fontself Maker Photoshop plugins (https://www.fontself.com).

This font includes:

Memphis, a color OTF font. Color OTF fonts are not compatible with all software - basically just Adobe Photoshop CC 2017.
4 styles of the typeface. Regular, Dark (for use on dark backgrounds), Solid (no patterns), and Dark Solid (no patterns, for use on dark backgrounds).

As a designer I'm so excited about the possibilities that color fonts offer! Read more about color fonts and their possibilities here: https://creativemarket.com/blog/color-fonts

Okay, maybe you can tell from recent uploads that I'm really getting into the Memphis-comeback style!

One of the best ways to utilise this style is with bold, graphic text that combines bright colors and bold patterns... but this effect can be time consuming to create from scratch.

Enter: The Memphis Type Collection! A vector alphabet that makes beautiful, custom-looking, modern type made easy.

Filetype: OTF, AI, EPS, JPG, and PNG. Legacy format for Illustrator also included
4 versions of each letter included: patterned, solid, for light background, and for dark background
Unique letters that work perfectly together!
Complete set: all capital letters, numbers, and punctuation (period, comma/apostrophe, exclamation point, question mark)

PLUS! Included with this alphabet are

Catchwords 10 words related to this style. Vector + raster formats.
Quotes 5 beautiful pre-made quotes. Vector + raster formats
Patterns 10 coordinating patterns, each in 7 colors! Seamless 5000x5000 px PNGs and JPGs, plus an AI file with pattern swatches.

This is a perfect tool for gorgeous title text, drop caps, quotes, branding, and other Memphis-style applications. I can't wait to see what you create!

The MEMPHIS Type Collection not only comes with 4 Color OTF fonts of different styles, it also comes with patterns, catchwords, quotes, and vector versions of everything. This offers great versatility in the creative process and is a great value for the cost. The typeface designs show a high level of creativity and skill.

The fonts never downloaded properly, creating blank fonts. The alphabet PNGs were blank. Only EPS/AI files worked at all.
