What are the different types of fonts?

While there are many ways to differentiate fonts, the main different categories to start with are serif, sans serif, script, blackletter, display/decorative, and non-Western. What is the difference between a font and a typeface?

The difference between a font and a typeface is that a typeface refers to the overall design, while a font is a specific style, size, or weight within that typeface. This is a bit confusing on its face - we think it’s a bit easier to reference an example. So if “Neue Swiss” is your typeface, "Neue Swiss Bold 12pt" might be your font. Of course, as you’ll find with anything in this wonderful world of fonts, nothing is so simple. What Font License is Right for Me?

A desktop license is the most common license and covers most commercial font usage. You can create graphic designs (logos, signs, etc.) and products (mugs, t-shirts, hats, etc.) for yourself, or your client(s). These are great for logos and branding, movie titles and captions, PDFs, cards, signs and print merchandise. Products may be sold for profit as long as the letters are not the main selling point of your product (like a house number or stamp set). Embedding fonts is not allowed with this license with a few exceptions (such as a PDF reports). All licenses on our site are perpetual, which means you pay once and use it forever. To use a font on your website, you’ll need a web font license. This type of license allows you to embed font files into the CSS code on your site. From there, site visitors can then see and temporarily use your embedded fonts! Web licenses on Creative Market are priced by pageview limits (essentially this means they are priced according to traffic). Beyond the web, we’ve also got you covered for apps and publications. Our app licenses allow you to embed font files in app code. These are best for things like games, mobile apps, and web apps. Hey there! Have you seen the awesome light boxes that are trending these days, featuring cute quotes and witty sayings? I love this look! It's such a fun look to integrate into social media, web headers, or marketing content, but creating the look digitally could be time consuming! So this color font makes the lightbox look super achievable and easy!

This font makes it possible to create a super cute lightbox just by typing!

Here's how you use this font!

Capital letters start a line on the lightbox. Keep typing in lowercase letters.
Use dashes (-) for regular spaces or for small spaces
Use } or / to end the lightbox line.
Use underscores (_) to make the bottom of the lightbox. Left brackets [ and lines | make large and small pieces for the bottom of the box.
Adjust the leading to squish the lines together! The leading should be about 70% of the font size.

This is a OTF color font. Color fonts are compatible with Photoshop CC 2017. Also included is a monospace sans serif, the plain font that you see in the screenshots, which is a versatile font compatible with any software. The font was created using Fontself maker, which you can check out here: https://crmrkt.com/xVQ1m

To keep Photoshop from crashing on me, the letters are about 600 pixels tall. If you need letters larger than this, or if you don't have Photoshop CC 2017 to use the color font, an AI file is included with all the letters, so you have a vector version of these graphics.

How can I unzip product files?

PC: To extract a single file or folder, double-click the compressed folder to open it. Then, drag the file or folder from the compressed folder to a new location. To extract the entire contents of the compressed folder, right-click the folder, click Extract All, and then follow the instructions.

Mac: Double click the .zip file, then search for the product folder or product file.

How do I install a font?

After you unzip your font product files, you will see .OTF or .TTF files. To install a font, just double click on the OTF or TTF file. For more information, check out our Font FAQ.

What software do I need to use this font?

When a font is installed on your computer, it can be used with any program that allows you to create text. Fonts will work in Microsoft Office applications, Adobe software, and almost any other program with a text editor.
