This Designer 3D Printed an Entire Fashion Collection from Home. And It's Absolutely Stunning.
3D printing is quickly, and quite dramatically, changing the way in which we create. Up to a few years ago, the ability to print in 3D was reserved for large corporations and specialized professionals that could afford expensive equipment. Since 2004, the cost of a 3D printer has dropped from over $15,000 USD to slightly under $1,000.
Danit Peleg, a 27-year old designer, produced an entire fashion collection as part of a capstone project for her Fashion Design degree at Shenkar College of Engineering and Design. It took 9 months of research and development, more than 2000 hours to print, and invaluable support from 3D printing community in Tel-Aviv. Each of the outfits that you will see below took over 400 hours of outstandingly creative work.
Danit documented her experience in a 2-minute video:
This collection pushes the envelope and brings us even closer to the day we will all be printing our own clothes from home. Want to learn more about her creative process? Head over to danitpeleg.com.
