This set includes 12 digital textures created from scanned vintage Japanese book covers dating from the early 1800s. The images feature worn surfaces, scuffs, and fading in a range of aged tones including indigo, brick red, mustard, olive, tan, and charcoal. Each texture preserves the imperfections and patina of the original materials.
These backgrounds are ideal for book design, collage art, packaging, or any project that needs authentic antique textures with a historic Japanese influence.
If you're using Photoshop or any software that supports layers, you can easily apply a texture over your photo and adjust the blending mode and opacity to achieve different effects. Overlay, Soft Light, and Multiply are commonly used blending modes. To remove the texture from specific areas, add a layer mask to the texture layer and use a soft black brush to paint over the sections you want to reveal.
