What are the different types of fonts?

While there are many ways to differentiate fonts, the main different categories to start with are serif, sans serif, script, blackletter, display/decorative, and non-Western. What is the difference between a font and a typeface?

The difference between a font and a typeface is that a typeface refers to the overall design, while a font is a specific style, size, or weight within that typeface. This is a bit confusing on its face - we think it’s a bit easier to reference an example. So if “Neue Swiss” is your typeface, "Neue Swiss Bold 12pt" might be your font. Of course, as you’ll find with anything in this wonderful world of fonts, nothing is so simple. What Font License is Right for Me?

A desktop license is the most common license and covers most commercial font usage. You can create graphic designs (logos, signs, etc.) and products (mugs, t-shirts, hats, etc.) for yourself, or your client(s). These are great for logos and branding, movie titles and captions, PDFs, cards, signs and print merchandise. Products may be sold for profit as long as the letters are not the main selling point of your product (like a house number or stamp set). Embedding fonts is not allowed with this license with a few exceptions (such as a PDF reports). All licenses on our site are perpetual, which means you pay once and use it forever. To use a font on your website, you’ll need a web font license. This type of license allows you to embed font files into the CSS code on your site. From there, site visitors can then see and temporarily use your embedded fonts! Web licenses on Creative Market are priced by pageview limits (essentially this means they are priced according to traffic). Beyond the web, we’ve also got you covered for apps and publications. Our app licenses allow you to embed font files in app code. These are best for things like games, mobile apps, and web apps. Introducing the My Beloved Font Collection, elegant fonts with a romantic modern touch to it. My Beloved is a sophisticated script and serif font that's really charming to combine together. It can be used for logo's, tote bags, cards, wedding designs, and ofcourse much more. It contains ligatures and alternatives to finish it off and give it a unique style.

My Beloved Regular. ~ A gorgeous script font, that has lots of ligatures and alternates. Really cute and pretty to combine with the Serif font.

My Beloved Alternates. ~ For your convenient, I've created a seperate font with the alternates in case you can't access the glyphs panel.

My Beloved Serif. ~ A Classy Serif font that really compliments the script font.

My Beloved Serif Italic. ~ The italic serif font looks just a little more classy.

I want to sing the praises of this gorgeous font, My Beloved, and its designer, Chantal! First, the font is just absolutely beautiful, and it has all the lovely style, but it's readable too! I find that discouraging with a lot of fonts that sacrifice readability for style, but Chantal balanced both needs beautifully. I had some trouble at first using it the first time because I didn't realize the rich variety of ligature options that Chantal put together for many letter combinations—so get your glyphs panel out and look at both versions of "Regular" and "Alternates" in that panel. They can be spread out, so keep looking—it's well worth it to add a special touch. In this process of not realizing why I couldn't access certain letters, Chantal was incredibly responsive, kind, patient and helpful over several email exchanges while we troubleshooted. I highly recommend the My Beloved font family and working with this talented, kind designer! I would give her more stars if I could!

How can I unzip product files?

PC: To extract a single file or folder, double-click the compressed folder to open it. Then, drag the file or folder from the compressed folder to a new location. To extract the entire contents of the compressed folder, right-click the folder, click Extract All, and then follow the instructions.

Mac: Double click the .zip file, then search for the product folder or product file.

How do I install a font?

After you unzip your font product files, you will see .OTF or .TTF files. To install a font, just double click on the OTF or TTF file. For more information, check out our Font FAQ.

What software do I need to use this font?

When a font is installed on your computer, it can be used with any program that allows you to create text. Fonts will work in Microsoft Office applications, Adobe software, and almost any other program with a text editor.
