What the heck is Armature?

Armature is an extension panel for Adobe Illustrator containing collections of commonly used objects when building wireframes and UIs for websites, web and mobile apps. Objects are accessed by browsing or searching then double-clicking or dragging to an active artboard.

What is Armature compatible with?

Adobe Illustrator CS5+, CC and CC 2014 on Mac or PC. Sorry, there are no plans to support versions of Illustrator older than CS5.

How do I install Armature?

If you have Adobe Extension Manager installed, you can simply download Armature from the link supplied after your purchase. Double-click the Armature.zxp file and Adobe Extension Manager should launch allowing you to install the extension. The next time you open Illustrator, Armature will appear. Simply enter your email address and license information and you're good to go.

If Adobe Extension Manager doesn't launch when you double-click the downloaded file, that likely means you don't have it installed. If you're using Adobe CC (Creative Cloud), open the Creative Cloud helper app, navigate to the "Apps" area, and scroll down to "FIND NEW APPS." From there you can install Extension Manager CC. Once installed, double-click the Armature.zxp file you downloaded previously to install it.

For Adobe Illustrator CS5 and up, simply Google "Adobe Extension Manager CS" to find the link to download the appropriate version for your version of CS. Once installed, double-click the Armature.zxp file you downloaded previously to install it.

Are Armature objects editable?

Yes! All Armature objects are in vector format (SVG) and are fully resizable and editable.

Can I add my own objects to Armature?

Not at this time. We are considering that feature for a future release.

How often are new objects added and how do I update my copy to get them?

We're frequently adding new objects to the library. Fortunately for you, these are added automagically. Just close and relaunch Armature and any newly added objects will instantly be added to your panel.
