Bring warmth, depth and a tactile character to your work with Material Stories — a curated collection of fabric texture overlays and full-color material backgrounds created from real physical surfaces.

Each texture began with fabric, felt, foam or another tactile material, then was carefully scanned and processed by hand to preserve its natural fibers, grain and beautifully imperfect character. The result is a versatile collection that brings an authentic analog quality to digital artwork without overpowering the original image.

The texture overlays are provided in both light and dark versions, making them easy to use with photography, illustrations, flat colors and layered compositions. Adjust the opacity, explore different blending modes or combine several textures to create subtle woven detail, soft tactile depth or a more expressive distressed effect.

Alongside the overlays, the collection includes 16 full-color material backgrounds in a cohesive palette of warm neutrals, earthy browns, muted burgundy, deep green and soft gray. Use them as ready-made backgrounds or layer them with the included textures to build rich, atmospheric compositions.
