To do that you'll need a tech pack. A tech pack is a technical document that explains your design clearly to a factory. The tech pack should explain your design, show dimensions, materials, and hardware. It should be easy to digest and use so your factory can make a pattern and then a physical sample of your product idea.

When I was a design student and young designer it was hard to find tech packs for soft goods products like bags and apparel. Having a quality tech pack to reference will save you A LOT of time. You can use it to learn how to explain every part of your design. In this product, I designed a travel pack and showed how I would communicate every part of it to a factory through an easy to read tech pack.

WHOA! THIS IS CRAZY VALUABLE. I've been looking for a quality techpack to help me reference when i'm designing complex bags and apparel. Tech packs like this are impossible to get unless you work for a company that has a library of them. highly recommend
