Outside Voice Handwritten Font
About
Outside Voice is a handwritten, all-caps typeface, created as an homage to the robust history of handwritten protest signs. It's a beautiful display font for a huge range of projects, from poster art to holiday cards.
With contextual alternates enabled, this font will automatically cycle through three sets of handwritten alphabets as you type! The result is type that looks as imperfect and handmade as a digital font can get. This makes Outside Voice a wonderful choice for pairing with hand-drawn illustrations. Consider varying the size, slant, and/or color of each line in your layouts. These adjustments make Outside Voice look even more handmade and organic, which is great for fun designs like posters and quotes.
This typeface is quirky and ligature-rich, with over 600 glyphs and icons. It supports Latin and Modern Greek alphabets, and includes all European language diacritical markings. The family consists of four fonts: regular, regular italic, medium, medium italic, and outline.
It includes a set of decorated word ligatures comprised of common protest words like 'peace,' 'vote', and 'yes!'. You'll also get the separate ornament components so you can create all the decorated words you want! Additionally, you'll get a full set of common protest icons, such as a raised fist, planet, dove, and peace sign.
Outside Voice is comprised of:
- 3 sets of the complete, all-caps Latin alphabet (with all accent marks),
- 3 sets of the complete, all-caps Modern Greek alphabet (with all accent marks),
- a set of popular protest iconography,
- a set of decorated words and ligatures,
- numerals, fractions, and decorated numbers,
- extensive punctuation and diacritical markings.
Open Type features:
To get the most out of Outside Voice, it is best to use software that supports Open Type fonts (Adobe programs, Corel Draw, Affinity Designer, etc). This type family has tons of built-in OpenType ligatures and alternates, which are what make it so customizable and decorative. The most is the contextual alternates, so be sure to turn those on! This is what turns on the cycling between the three alphabet sets. You can always access the ligatures, alternates, and icons through your software's glyphs panel. (If you don't know how to use open type with your software, Google and YouTube are great resources.)
For a complete preview of all the ligatures, please look at the 7th image in this product listing.
Download includes:
- .OTF files for all 5 fonts (regular, italic, medium, medium italic, outline)
- Web font files (.WOFF and .WOFF2) for all 5 fonts
- Bonus folder of common protest messages
