A little Christmas theatre, ready for your stories.
I wanted to paint a few toys dressed for a Christmas performance… and somehow ended up in charge of an entire little theatre. The Midnight Toy Theatre began with paper crowns, velvet ribbons and the idea that old toys might have a secret life after dark. Soon there were woodland performers, sleepy dreamers, a costume room full of tiny outfits, and more backstage treasures than I had originally planned.
Created by hand with paints and pastels, this collection brings together storybook characters, costumes, theatrical props, Christmas decorations, bows, garlands, frames and decorative papers. Midnight blues, deep burgundies, forest greens and soft golden accents give every piece a place in the same nostalgic world. Mix the illustrations into your own scenes, or let a single character take the spotlight on a card, invitation, gift tag or poster.
