Turbohaus
About
Inspired by the engineering and heritage behind racecar development, Turbohaus is an all-caps display typeface shaped by rounded numerals and high-visibility markings. It draws from the letterforms found on prototypes, race cars, and test-track equipment. The characters are built for immediacy, and expected to function under motion, dust, glare, and time. In this environment, legibility was a form of engineering, and the visual language that emerged was equal parts tool and identifier.
Turbohaus translates these influences into a typographic system of bold forms, softened corners, and compact proportions that echo the analog, hand-painted approach of lettering on body panels. By constraining variation and emphasizing consistent mass, the typeface captures the steady rhythm of markings built for recognition at speed. Curves follow the logic of mechanical radii rather than expressive gesture, yielding a tone that feels sturdy, aerodynamic, and deliberately industrial.
Released in a single weight and cut in Upright and Italic, Turbohaus contains 238 glyphs and supports over 90 languages. Its clarity and structural uniformity lend it to signage, titling, wayfinding, and identity work where impact, stability, and engineered precision are central to the layout. At large sizes it asserts presence; in tighter systems it maintains order. Turbohaus is a display typeface shaped by the same functional mindset that defined the machines inspiring it.
