What are the different types of fonts?

While there are many ways to differentiate fonts, the main different categories to start with are serif, sans serif, script, blackletter, display/decorative, and non-Western. What is the difference between a font and a typeface?

The difference between a font and a typeface is that a typeface refers to the overall design, while a font is a specific style, size, or weight within that typeface. This is a bit confusing on its face - we think it’s a bit easier to reference an example. So if “Neue Swiss” is your typeface, "Neue Swiss Bold 12pt" might be your font. Of course, as you’ll find with anything in this wonderful world of fonts, nothing is so simple. What Font License is Right for Me?

A desktop license is the most common license and covers most commercial font usage. You can create graphic designs (logos, signs, etc.) and products (mugs, t-shirts, hats, etc.) for yourself, or your client(s). These are great for logos and branding, movie titles and captions, PDFs, cards, signs and print merchandise. Products may be sold for profit as long as the letters are not the main selling point of your product (like a house number or stamp set). Embedding fonts is not allowed with this license with a few exceptions (such as a PDF reports). All licenses on our site are perpetual, which means you pay once and use it forever. To use a font on your website, you’ll need a web font license. This type of license allows you to embed font files into the CSS code on your site. From there, site visitors can then see and temporarily use your embedded fonts! Web licenses on Creative Market are priced by pageview limits (essentially this means they are priced according to traffic). Beyond the web, we’ve also got you covered for apps and publications. Our app licenses allow you to embed font files in app code. These are best for things like games, mobile apps, and web apps. About

L'Hanoienne (tiếng Việt: cô gái Hà Nội, English: Hanoi Lady) is a typeface created by Manh Nguyen, a type designer based in Vietnam. In an effort of bringing back the old style yet futuristic vibes of hand-painting retro panels and banners which are iconic in a long time in Vietnam street in 20th century, after the famous Classique Saigon, Manh Nguyen decided to create another typeface to paying homage to another city of his homeland. The project also resembles the vibes of vintage by using analogue photos shot by Manh himself, right at the city on the font name. L'Hanoienne, despite of sharing the same diacritic style and type anatomy with her font brother Classique Saigon, still has some great difference to affect the reading experience of users. Constructed as a geometric modern sans serif like Classique Saigon, nonetheless, L'Hanoienne has a lighter contrast and more delicate anatomy which fits the discreet and gentle Far East beauty of a Tonkin woman in the 20th century. Though being a display type, L'Hanoienne shows great vintage vibes when using as body text in Vietnamese. L'Hanoienne is now available on Creative Market and a free demo font could be also download in the end of the project page. Noted that the demo font can only use for con-commercial projects but the full version of OTF font with fully multilingual-supported can be used in any project as the desktop font.

How can I unzip product files?

PC: To extract a single file or folder, double-click the compressed folder to open it. Then, drag the file or folder from the compressed folder to a new location. To extract the entire contents of the compressed folder, right-click the folder, click Extract All, and then follow the instructions.

Mac: Double click the .zip file, then search for the product folder or product file.

How do I install a font?

After you unzip your font product files, you will see .OTF or .TTF files. To install a font, just double click on the OTF or TTF file. For more information, check out our Font FAQ.

What software do I need to use this font?

When a font is installed on your computer, it can be used with any program that allows you to create text. Fonts will work in Microsoft Office applications, Adobe software, and almost any other program with a text editor.
