Biblia Serif, Draetha, Araldo Group
About
This is a powerful group of three font families specifically designed for the effective design of books. In the Biblia Serif package twelve fonts in three families, everything is very conservative. The thinking was that Biblia Serif is really a normal humanist font family designed to disappear into the design. Remembering that typography, when it’s noticed, is rarely the message. So Draetha and Araldo were designed with the same font metric and a bit of an attitude. Yet they fit so well that they don't interfere with the book content. Obviously these fonts are part of my increasing focus on fonts which I, and my friends, can use in the production of our Christian projects. Yes, Biblia is the word for Bible in Italian and other languages. Ignoring the fact that it really just means book, my thought was, What do I call a striking sans serif, designed to work with these fonts, for heads & subheads? Well, Draetha is Welsh for Preach. Araldo is Italian for Herald or a proclaimer. Makes sense to me.
