Eitel

Eitel is a serif type family designed for the worlds of horror, gothic fiction, and mystery. Its sharp serifs, flowing curves, and pointed details bring together classical elegance and an unsettling presence, giving words a distinctive character that feels both refined and sinister.

Designed for both display and text, Eitel moves comfortably from large, expressive headlines to smaller paragraphs and extended text layouts. It is a natural choice for book covers and interiors, film and television titles, theatre productions, album artwork, and posters. Its distinctive letterforms also lend themselves to branding and artwork that call for an atmosphere of suspense or a darker identity.

The family includes six styles: Regular, Medium, and Bold, each available in Solid and Scratched versions. Solid reveals the crisp contours and sculptural qualities of the letterforms, while Scratched introduces a worn texture that adds depth and a sense of decay. The three weights offer flexibility for creating hierarchy across titles, supporting text, and complete editorial compositions.

Each style contains 481 glyphs, including stylistic alternates, small caps, decorative word ligatures, and special characters. Horned forms, diamond details, and extended terminals allow designers to give selected letters a more dramatic expression. Decorative versions of words such as “the,” “of,” and “and” offer further possibilities for composing distinctive titles, bringing the smallest elements into the overall design.
