Bad Scan Effect
About
Create a vintage, low-quality black-and-white photocopy/scanned-document effect. Convert the image to monochrome with strong film grain, heavy noise, dust, scratches, and subtle paper texture. Increase the contrast while keeping the highlights slightly overexposed and the shadows soft and uneven. Add horizontal dark scan bands and faded rectangular streaks across the image, creating the look of an old photocopied photograph or badly scanned magazine page. The face should remain recognizable but partially obscured by the scan lines and noise. Add slight blur, compression artifacts, uneven exposure, and analog imperfections throughout. Include bold black typography near the bottom, partially affected by the scan distortion, resembling a “BAD SCAN” warning/label. Overall aesthetic: raw, imperfect, photocopied, analog, editorial, 1990s scanner aesthetic.
