Can I customize the templates and themes I purchase?

Yes, you can customize templates and themes purchased through Creative Market to match your unique needs and project goals. This customization capability applies to a wide range of templates, such as website themes, presentation templates, resume designs, marketing collateral, and more, offering flexibility to add personal branding, design elements, and functional features that align with your intended use. However, it’s important to note that modified assets cannot be redistributed or resold as templates or stock. This restriction ensures that shop owners’ assets retain their distinct value. Our license terms also require significant modification to ensure that your end product derives value from your skill and input, rather than from the template itself. Creative Market’s terms of use maintain a balance between providing creative freedom for customizations while safeguarding the rights of the original creators. This includes transforming templates into business presentations, cards, invitations, and marketing materials, so long as these are not resold in any competitive format. You can learn more about Template usage terms in this Help Center page .

What license options are available for templates and themes?

Creative Market offers three distinct license tiers to cater to different needs for templates and themes: the Personal License, the Commercial License, and the Extended Commercial License. The Personal License is suited for non-commercial and personal projects, such as personal website designs or digital prints for non-business use. For businesses, the Commercial License permits usage in up to 5,000 End Products, making it a good fit for small to medium-sized marketing campaigns, local market advertisements, and similar commercial endeavors. On the other hand, the Extended Commercial License is designed for large-scale projects and offers more flexibility, allowing the creation of up to 250,000 End Products. This includes broad market distribution, making it ideal for national or global marketing materials, large print runs, and extensive brand campaigns. Each license tier clearly defines permissible uses and restrictions to protect the value of original assets while enabling flexibility for businesses and creatives to build their projects.

Which website platforms are supported by Creative Market themes?

Creative Market themes cater to a wide range of website platforms, making it easier for designers, developers, and entrepreneurs to find the perfect match for their digital projects. Among the most popular platforms supported are WordPress , a versatile and widely used CMS ideal for bloggers, businesses, and online stores; Shopify , tailored for building robust and visually stunning eCommerce websites; and Wix , known for its user-friendly drag-and-drop functionality. Additionally, Creative Market offers HTML templates and Bootstrap themes , which provide greater customization freedom for developers seeking lightweight and responsive designs. This diverse range of themes ensures that users across various skill levels—from beginners building their first online presence to seasoned developers creating complex websites—can find assets tailored to their needs. Choosing the right platform-specific theme streamlines the design process, enhances the functionality of your website, and helps achieve consistent brand aesthetics with minimal effort.

Can I resell resume templates if I purchase the Commercial License?

No, reselling resume templates or any other assets purchased through a Commercial License from Creative Market is strictly prohibited. Even if you make modifications or customizations to the original template, redistribution or resale is not allowed. This policy prevents redistribution in a modified form, safeguarding the value and exclusivity of assets for both buyers and creators. Creative Market’s licenses are designed to enable customization for personal or client projects while protecting against the direct competition posed by the unauthorized resale of original or modified templates. Under the terms of the Commercial License, you can create up to 5,000 End Products for commercial distribution using the template, provided your end products are distinct, value-added derivatives that cannot be extracted or sold as stand-alone templates. This ensures a fair use balance between maximizing your creative potential and honoring the rights of the original asset designers.
