TT Hoves Pro is one of the studio’s bestsellers included in our core set of versatile fonts. It is a Scandinavian sans serif with a neutral but recognizable character. One of this font’s key characteristics is a visual lack of contrast. All terminals are positioned at one level, and triangular glyphs feature wide horizontal strokes.
The name TT Hoves is formed by combining the initial syllables of the words «horizontals» and «verticals.» It emphasizes the dominance of horizontal and vertical strokes in the font’s glyph design. When working on this typeface, we aimed to create a convenient and functional designer tool with its own style and aesthetics.
Thanks to its large character set, numerous font styles, and extensive language support, TT Hoves Pro offers solutions to tackle a variety of different tasks. The typeface includes a variable font with three axes of variation: width, weight, and slant. This provides designers with even more opportunities to unleash their creativity.
The Mono subfamily in the new version was approached with a creative touch. Instead of only creating a monospaced font preserving the graphics of TT Hoves Pro, we modified the visual style of some glyphs. This allowed us to add a specific charm to TT Hoves Pro Mono, making it look more expressive.
So, some characters in the Cyrillic set acquired serif, which made the text density more uniform. Among interesting details is a set with a three-legged lowercase «т» and a serif in «б.» The form of «Сс» in the Cyrillic and Latin character sets is different, helping to avoid confusion when the font is used in programming scripts.
TT Hoves Pro Mono includes 15 font styles: 7 roman, 7 italic, and one variable font with 3 variation axes. We also added a Compact subfamily with 20 new font styles. In total, the typeface includes 5 subfamilies: Compact, Normal, Condensed, Expanded, and Mono, plus two Outline font styles (roman and italic).
TT Hoves Pro easily matches any contemporary project. It’s perfect for web and app design and looks flawless in branding, packaging design, and printing. The font is highly readable and does an excellent job in running text as well as large point sizes.
The updated TT Hoves Pro includes:
- 98 font styles, including 2 variable fonts; -1 573 glyphs in each font of the Compact, Normal, Condensed, and Expanded subfamilies, 1229 glyphs in each font of the Mono subfamily, and 672 glyphs in the Outline versions;
- 41 OpenType features, counting in ligatures and stylistic alternates;
- 200+ languages support.
Especially for TT Hoves Pro font family we've prepared a type specimen which can be downloaded here—https://typetype.org/wp-content/uploads/tt_hoves_pro_specimen.pdf
