What are the different types of fonts?

While there are many ways to differentiate fonts, the main different categories to start with are serif, sans serif, script, blackletter, display/decorative, and non-Western. What is the difference between a font and a typeface?

The difference between a font and a typeface is that a typeface refers to the overall design, while a font is a specific style, size, or weight within that typeface. This is a bit confusing on its face - we think it’s a bit easier to reference an example. So if “Neue Swiss” is your typeface, "Neue Swiss Bold 12pt" might be your font. Of course, as you’ll find with anything in this wonderful world of fonts, nothing is so simple. What Font License is Right for Me?

A desktop license is the most common license and covers most commercial font usage. You can create graphic designs (logos, signs, etc.) and products (mugs, t-shirts, hats, etc.) for yourself, or your client(s). These are great for logos and branding, movie titles and captions, PDFs, cards, signs and print merchandise. Products may be sold for profit as long as the letters are not the main selling point of your product (like a house number or stamp set). Embedding fonts is not allowed with this license with a few exceptions (such as a PDF reports). All licenses on our site are perpetual, which means you pay once and use it forever. To use a font on your website, you’ll need a web font license. This type of license allows you to embed font files into the CSS code on your site. From there, site visitors can then see and temporarily use your embedded fonts! Web licenses on Creative Market are priced by pageview limits (essentially this means they are priced according to traffic). Beyond the web, we’ve also got you covered for apps and publications. Our app licenses allow you to embed font files in app code. These are best for things like games, mobile apps, and web apps. Wonky font is a magnificently multifunctional font family of two. Wonky font is all caps and has a clean, hand lettered feel. It's nonsensical spacing and subtle differences allow for maximum wonk! Includes alternates to make sure that no character looks too repetitive (see: wonk). And! It comes with two styles: "Wow! That's Wonky" and "Oh! Even Wonkier" depending on the level of wonk you're looking for.

Really nice font, a lot of character! However the kerning is quite off, especially the AVA kerning needs quite a bit of work.

A font so nice I bought it twice! Looks wonderful in a variety of contexts. Really adds some personality to whatever you're working on. So far used it for an instagram post, heading typeface, and 5 AFL milestone banners. Really thrives when you're going for something that needs a community feel. If you're using it on the web, you'll just need to tweak the padding on top and 0.03em of extra space between characters to give it room to be it's beautiful wonky self.

In this digital age where everything is too precise and soul-less, it is refreshing to see a font that thumbs its nose at all of this binary-ness. I love that this font is imperfect, random, and full of spirit and character. I will enjoy using this. Let's continue to rage against the machine and continue with the belief that it is up to us to change things! Thank you to the creator! This is a lovely font.

How can I unzip product files?

PC: To extract a single file or folder, double-click the compressed folder to open it. Then, drag the file or folder from the compressed folder to a new location. To extract the entire contents of the compressed folder, right-click the folder, click Extract All, and then follow the instructions.

Mac: Double click the .zip file, then search for the product folder or product file.

How do I install a font?

After you unzip your font product files, you will see .OTF or .TTF files. To install a font, just double click on the OTF or TTF file. For more information, check out our Font FAQ.

What software do I need to use this font?

When a font is installed on your computer, it can be used with any program that allows you to create text. Fonts will work in Microsoft Office applications, Adobe software, and almost any other program with a text editor.
