What are the different types of fonts?

While there are many ways to differentiate fonts, the main different categories to start with are serif, sans serif, script, blackletter, display/decorative, and non-Western. What is the difference between a font and a typeface?

The difference between a font and a typeface is that a typeface refers to the overall design, while a font is a specific style, size, or weight within that typeface. This is a bit confusing on its face - we think it’s a bit easier to reference an example. So if “Neue Swiss” is your typeface, "Neue Swiss Bold 12pt" might be your font. Of course, as you’ll find with anything in this wonderful world of fonts, nothing is so simple. What Font License is Right for Me?

A desktop license is the most common license and covers most commercial font usage. You can create graphic designs (logos, signs, etc.) and products (mugs, t-shirts, hats, etc.) for yourself, or your client(s). These are great for logos and branding, movie titles and captions, PDFs, cards, signs and print merchandise. Products may be sold for profit as long as the letters are not the main selling point of your product (like a house number or stamp set). Embedding fonts is not allowed with this license with a few exceptions (such as a PDF reports). All licenses on our site are perpetual, which means you pay once and use it forever. To use a font on your website, you’ll need a web font license. This type of license allows you to embed font files into the CSS code on your site. From there, site visitors can then see and temporarily use your embedded fonts! Web licenses on Creative Market are priced by pageview limits (essentially this means they are priced according to traffic). Beyond the web, we’ve also got you covered for apps and publications. Our app licenses allow you to embed font files in app code. These are best for things like games, mobile apps, and web apps. I love Tea. Do you love Tea? Good. Because there's a whole load of T's in the Totally Terrific Typeface! Bursting with fun and bouncy brush-strokes, this typeface will undoubtedly add a dash of cheeky playfulness to your text - ideal for greeting cards, branding, merchandise, invitations & hand-made quotes.

The awesome thing about this typeface is that it's so easy to mix up the various font styles and create totally unique, hand-made looking words each time. The lowercase characters can be connected or un-connected, and will work in any combination of these two versions. Not only does it also look great in all-caps, but the uppercase letters will fit in with the lowercase at any location - I'm serious! Just throw one in the middle of a word, I dare you ;).

Your download will contain 2 font files;

Totally Terrific Typeface • Contains a full set of connected lowercase letters, uppercase letters, a large range of punctuation, numerals, and multilingual support.

Totally Terrific Typeface Two • A second version of the Totally Terrific Typeface, with a completely new set of un-connected lowercase characters. These are designed to work in perfect harmony with the connected set from the other font file. Just keep switching between the two fonts to create unique word layouts!

Both fonts are provided in TTF & OTF formats. I recommend installing the TTF, and the OTF only if necessary.

How can I unzip product files?

PC: To extract a single file or folder, double-click the compressed folder to open it. Then, drag the file or folder from the compressed folder to a new location. To extract the entire contents of the compressed folder, right-click the folder, click Extract All, and then follow the instructions.

Mac: Double click the .zip file, then search for the product folder or product file.

How do I install a font?

After you unzip your font product files, you will see .OTF or .TTF files. To install a font, just double click on the OTF or TTF file. For more information, check out our Font FAQ.

What software do I need to use this font?

When a font is installed on your computer, it can be used with any program that allows you to create text. Fonts will work in Microsoft Office applications, Adobe software, and almost any other program with a text editor.
